try an over the counter retinol or adapalene then your skin might react better. if your only issue is dryness and not irritation then maybe moisturize more i actually moisturize before applying tret then add another moisturizer

alright got it , will try that

    NEEDLY'S DAILY TONER PADS

NEEDLY Daily Toner Pads deliver moisture and soothe skin while BHA & PHA gently exfoliates the skin. With a combination of plant extracts, it also helps to control oil, improve skin texture and visibly reduce the appearance of pores. The large, dual-sided toner pads have a textured side for exfoliating away impurities and dead skin cells for smooth-looking skin while the smooth side can be used as a toner sheet mask.

These have been going viral in Korea. Tried them out and they're really nice! Not sure if I buy the shrinking pores (that's a skincare myth) but I like the easiness of application and how it preps my skin.

Ngl I've never gone to a dermatologist because I'm a bit scared. Partly because of the fact that I don't trust they're not going to peddle more bullshit to me that keeps me buying s*** but also because I've never gone.

Getting real tired of my skin NGL getting breakouts all the time... I suspect it's anxiety related since I've been having a lot of personal issues recently. Im a lot better than when I was younger but I tend to be prone to getting anxious for whatever reason. Just been trying to chill out and look after myself but career s*** is hassling me rn. Pray for me brothers.

Hope everyone else's skin journeys are going well tho. Sending love

do research on your derm, bring them whatever products you currently use, and stress to them you want to take things slowly. i went to a derm years ago that prescribed like 7 things for me and wrecked me. now im taking things light and have a derm that doesn’t want me using any products that won’t do well for me. it can be a process hope you figure it out

That's solid but if you really want to add something, I'd suggest adding a moisturizer which will help lock in all the hydration from the previous products. Something light yet incredibly potent is "Good Science Beauty's 003 Hydrating Face Cream" - my current favourite.

What kind of breakouts do you get? Is it cystic acne, whiteheads? Are you watching your diet, changing pillow cases, do you touch your face a lot and what’s your routine like?

The prescription combination that changed my life is the introduction of Aczone 5%. I use it in the morning and at night I use Retin A .5%. Combining these two with a hydrating routine and your skin will be beautiful and plump

my derm upped my tret prescription lets see what happens

derm said benzoyl peroxide would kill and prevent whatever stubborn acne i had and since i started i got a huge cyst hoping this is just some purging and im clean soon

  • i would always have the worst dry skin on my cheeks so i switched from using soap to a daily moisturizer or something like that and it totally fixed the problem 🤩

Mostly whiteheads on my chin and forehead with the occasional larger zit on my forehead. Sometimes around my temples too. My forehead mostly just has red marks though. Some red marks on my cheeks too. Change pillow cases every 2 days now, have showers every day. Mostly red marks on the forehead and below my mouth with some in other places on the face. Breakouts also concentrated around below the mouth and forehead (moreso the former).

Foods same as it's always been since I was a kid, mostly chicken, fish, vegetables, rice or bread and once in a blue moon I'll have pasta. But I suppose it could be diet, but I doubt it since I've kinda been eating the same thing forever. Then again allergies develop and I did suddenly get hay fever at the age of like 14 until around 20 when it calmed down a lot.

Don't touch my face much and I'm kind of obsessive about being clean, my mom said always have been since i was younger. Keep my clothes clean, bed clean everything. Routine atm is salycilic face wash (cerave), moisturizer with SPF night. This routine is mostly inherited from my older sister who told me to start doing it but I'm not sure if it's working for me.

I occasionally get bouts of anxiety where I'm scared the red marks won't stop but idk tbh. I'm looking to start my s*** from scratch and make sure I know for a fact I've exhausted every option.
