Has anyone tried DIY face masks?

i have tried an oatmeal, honey, green tea, hemp oil mask and my skin has improved lately

If you want a high end honey mask check out the one from Korean brand Iā€™m From.

They probably make some of the best masks on the market with the healthiest of ingredients, itā€™s filled with tons of nutrients native to South Korea.

If you have awful acne Iā€™d recommend going to a dermatologist first. If you canā€™t then be more specific about what issues your having. Itā€™s more than just products that can help your skin out.

I got back from the dermatologist earlier today, I've always just had mild acne on my cheeks but this time when I went back he said that I have light scarring. I cried when I got home and I haven't cried in years. Anyone here deal with scarring and have any words of encouragement? I feel awful.

Focus on building a good, healthy and hydrating routine and youā€™ll begin to notice your skin changing bro.

Light scarring shouldnā€™t be too bad to combat. Youā€™ll need 3 things in your routine:

    • chemical exfoliants
    • hydration
    • sunscreen

Iā€™m not sure how much you know about skincare or not so Iā€™ll run through the products and if you have any questions let me know!

    • PC 2% BHA is probably the most proven and potent chemical exfoliant on the market. It basically goes deep into your skin to remove dead skin, sebum & gunk. Practically cleanses it. You need this to fight the pigmentation and scarring as it rebuilds the skin

    • Hydrating products can vary but after a strong product, you need to give your skin something to drink so it can recover from the acids. Products: CeraVe PM, PC Omega+ Complex, Dr.Jart Ceramidin, Good Science Beautyā€™s 001

These are just some recommendations, look into what you like and or can afford

    • Sunscreen: this is probably one category that I donā€™t like giving recommendations on because itā€™s a very specific sort of product, depends on if youā€™re cool with a white cast, high/low spf, thickness/greasiness. Iā€™d say look into Korean sunscreens and or La Roche Posay for a more local option. STAY AWAY from d*** store sunscreens. This may be a trial and error sort of stage but anything above 30 SPF is good. This is the most important step!

Other things I didnā€™t mention that can help scarring are: Vitamin C serum, Snail Muscin & Alpha Arbutin but donā€™t worry about this if youā€™re just getting started

I'm really not well versed about skincare except that I drink loads of water and I take meds for my acne despite being well into my 20s

Thing is, I used to have a pretty smooth skin that's been kind of f***ed by recurrent acne. It's really not that bad now and I'm doing well but still have visible small scars here and there. Is there any product to fade em away or is it a lost cause?

Also, if you had to choose one and one product/oil/whatever it is to smooth your skin, what would I have to get? Thanks a bunch fam

    Read my previous post.

Best product to smoothen skin texture would be any of these:

    • PC 2% BHA
    • TO 30% AHA 2% BHA
    • Shani Darden Retinol Reform
    • Holifrog Shasta AHA

Chemical exfoliants & retinol are the most effective.
