Do me a favour and light that thing on fire & never purchase it again.

    1. Physical exfoliants are horrible for your skin, they can cause micro tears which have everlasting effects

    2. That product has some horrible ingredients like denatured alcohol and parfum that dry and irritate the skin

    3. To exfoliate, always use chemical exfoliants

    • PC 2% BHA is the best & most popular one

    • An alternative & cheaper one is The Inkey List’s BHA

If you're looking for a product consisting of a good amount of hyaluronic acid, I'd recommend the "Hada Labo Gokujun Premium Lotion".

It's actually a liquid based substance/essence but in Korean skincare, lotion is referred to what we consider a toner. Anyways, that product has 5 different types of hyaluronic acid and really plumps up the skin.

any brown/darkskin hyper pigmentation fam itt? I've taken skincare more seriously in the past year or two, but i've noticed that there is still some discoloration around my face due to some acne scars back in HS.

How do i get rid of this, and even my skin tone? I've went through so many different routines over the last couple years, and at the moment all im doing is double cleansing, nianmicide and moisterize + sunscreen and its working good tbh.

Does anyone know what i can do about how i can get back my natural skin tone thats on my neck and body?

Less cleansing and more sleep, B5 and Vitamin C. Discoloration usually deal with adrenals

Chemical exfoliation and vibrant ingredients will get you right in no time.

    • A good BHA like PC 2% will remove that gunk & dirt and rebuild skin layers

    • A daily Vitamin C serum, something like Melano CC is cheap yet super effective

    • I just recently picked this up but Topicals: Faded is packed with absolutely incredible ingredients, some of the best I've seen in years that combat hyperpigmentation:

Tranexamic Acid: Helps reduce the look of dark patches and post-blemish marks.

Niacinamide: Reduces the look of discoloration and uneven skin tone.

Azelaic Acid: Visibly brightens the skin tone, improves the evenness of skin texture, reduces the look of blemishes, and offers antioxidant support.

Kojic Acid: mildly exfoliates skin and inhibits melanocyte activation

Melatonin: Interrupts communication between melanocytes and keratinocytes, limits melanocyte stimulation, scavenges free radicals

Topicals is also a black owned skincare brand if anyone is curious or cares.

I've been in skin care for a minute so I know what to look out for and ingredients to avoid but if you're new, a simple patch test is recommended.

To see if you're allergic = Behind the ear

To check for irritation = The area where you're most sensitive

To check for clogs or acne = The area in which you experience this the most

This is sort of the general consensus amongst the community regarding patch testing.

yo if yall could only have 3 skincare products what would they be?

Really appreciate the post. I actually have Melano CC on me, not sure why i don't use it. What does your routine (morning + night) look like with these products? I researched the Faded product, it looks good so i ordered it.

So sometime this week i'll have a cleanser, moisterizer, nianmicide, vitamin C serum, the faded serum and a BHA (is the ordinary peeling solution a good one?)

I've never personally patch tested, I just read the ingredients and see if there's anything sketchy. However, I'd recommend you applying the moisturizer to the most acne prone spot on your face and see if it gets worse. Cleansers aren't on your face long enough to really cause break outs unless there's some crazy ingredients in it.

What moisturizer & cleanser are you using?

Honestly, I'm at the point where I can switch it up to whatever my skin needs which is why I don't post a concrete routine, every night there can be a minor change - or not. However, hypothetically a good routine targeting hyperpigmentation (using these products) can be as follows:

    AM:

    • Cleanser
    • Vitamin C: Melano CC
    • Treatment: Faded's Topicals
    • Moisturizer
    • Sunscreen

    PM:

    • Cleanser
    • PC 2% BHA
    • Treatment: Faded's Topicals
    • Moisturizer

Note: if you're starting out with BHA for the first time, limit it to 3 times a week and you must apply SPF the following morning.

im using LRP toleraine cleanser and neutrogena hydroboost (for extra dry) moisturizer

i tried the cerave hydrating and the foaming cleansers and felt like they were causing breakouts but idk at this point
