Even though it's not my favorite Ka album, I would love to see Navy Blue go in an experimental Days with Dr. Yen Lo route

All due respect to MIKE and Siifu, but Navy is my favorite artist out of this scene now. The gas really started kicking in at Self Harm and bro. I legit teared up. This brother is on another level.

If I had to nitpick, the new record seemed kind of long (maybe because I was high) but I still enjoyed it. I won’t change my top 5, especially after one listen. But I think in the future I’ll look back and say the top 5 of the year was:

3. Slauson
4. Navy
5. MIKE

damn Ovrkast - Try Again EP is hitting rn, I was underrating this

He and Preservation would make a special album together for sure

as much as I love Yasiin that would prolly be one of Earl's features this year, or Maxo on Whole World, or Liv.e on Mind Right... Mavi and Navy on the Ovrkast joint also up there tbh.

in terms of recent Yasiin features it's KSG > Sage > Bandana tho

oh and AKAI on this rly lived up to his name

What’s y’all’s most anticipated releases for 2021? I’m looking forward to:

A new Maxo project (boy been killing features all year)

A new AKAI project (been fairly quiet so I know he’s cooking)

A full length project from Maassai (I know she can make something special)

A proper follow-up to Ensley from Siifu (I respect his desire to experiment and I won’t put him in a box, but I hope he gives us another solo rap tape)

And Mavi (I haven’t liked the songs he’s dropped recently but Let the Sun Talk was my AOTY last year so I have faith in my mans)

Zelooperz been on a roll and lowkey only getting better, will likely continue to collab with these guys too

AKAI hopefully dropping an album as concise as his EP this year

Psychedelic Ensemble has quietly dropped some rly fire NTS Mixes which show he's rly deeply tuned in and I thought his tape with Jadasea and John Glacier (Jada John) was very very fire

Also hoping on Jay Versace and L'Rain full-lengths

@justynbass to me FlySiifu's was the most satisfying Siifu rap album yet tbh. Not sure he'll ever make the same type of thing he did with Ensley but I'm here for whatever

Seriously tho Roc basically insinuated in an interview that their common ground musically is really sparse, and that they were just drifting apart in sound, which is honestly true if they’re last projects are anything to go by

Also Ka tweeted something a while back that basically implied it wasn’t coming

Damn just relistened to Weight of the World for the first time in a bit and was real indifferent toward it

The constant rhyming every line flow can get exhausting

Still a good project, but def not as good as I thought it was
