one of my favourites off the deluxe. LastNameDavid did his thing.
Yeah I told @DwindlingSun this when he introduced homie to us. I like Demahjiae's cadence better because he's not gasping for air when he raps like Mavi does
I never thought of it that way before but I could well be in agreement.
Demahjiae's album was crazy underrated. Hopefully gets a bit more steam with the next one, rate him highly.
Hate to speculate but is MIKE taking shots at sixpress/Ade Hakim on Evil Eye?
After watching this video where Ade talks about drifting from MIKE specifically from 9:57 onwards:
I can't help but feel MIKE saw this and is responding through this song with the lyrics:
"On that strange ave where I used to lay raps, hungry
So we ate half
Brother on the train pack something to evade sad, truth is I relate
It ain't nothing just to break acts, I chewed around the plate
It was months of doing way bad 'fore I saw the cake
Then there's years of tryna change paths, fears of coming late
Too embarrassed for his lame ass, cherish where he stay
Try compare him but it ain't that, comparison's his game"
A few things on this
1. "On that strange ave where I used to lay raps, hungry" - Ade and MIKE used to live together in the early days as seen in the Stuck in the Scene vid.
2. Ade was doing gigs on the subway recently
3. Ade talks about how MIKE was getting got inspired by the sixpress sound and started producing stuff under dj blackpower. Further, how Ade thought MIKE was getting all the cred from blogposts despite being produced by Ade.
4. Ade talks about how they categorised and compared members of Slums as MIKE number 1 and Ade number 2 then everyone else.
5. The split of MIKE producing his own stuff and getting the whole cake rather than having to split it with Ade is a connection I can't unsee.
I think there are subs to Medhane too on this.
Really hope they can resolve this as they're the leaders of the new sound and I don't believe Some Rap Songs would be what it is without them. Really seems like brothers are going through some hardship :(

I think you're reading a bit much into it tbh, can't quite see all you're saying in those lines
