Do you know if the vinyl she releasing is the complete edition or just the new songs?

Sry nah, I'd assume it's just the EP tho unless otherwise stated?

    Crack Palm Stepper

    This chaotic as f***

Yea sort of the usual deal with Siifu at this point, very scattershot/ all over the place and wildly jumping from style to style with every track. That aspect of his solo albums always takes time for me to digest, at first always seems a bit too much.

That said every album also has a a sort of cohesive aesthetic/ sound/ mix of sounds

this keeps a similar edge to the last project, but a lot more accessible imo. monte booker and lance on the same track

Looking forward to the Caltrop’s Press Gumbo review. Their last one on Negro was incredible: caltropspress.tumblr.com/post/630807847123435520/notes-on-pink-siifus-negro

I was at the album release party last night. Seeing the album live was lit. Hits different with a crowd. Back went especially hard.

Gumbo’! is Siifu’s best work yet IMO. Not too many artists can pull off the messy, almost directionless vibe that he does here and make it invigorating to the point where it actually helps the music. Really does feel like he culminated all his past works into one & evolved them into something greater, as well as delving into some new territory for himself. Also feels like the first project of his where he really embraces his southern roots.

Even if you don’t f*** with him you gotta at least respect the man’s ambitiousness.

I think Negro Deluxe does that without the plethora of features

I'll be honest this gives off a pretentious / hyperserious vibe imo, But it's good s*** and prolly the most interesting review I've read of the album
