just found this through the rym top 100 chart anyone listen to this yet? @DwindlingSun ? Jah-Monte and Siifu feature on one track. Album cover is gorgeous, very jazzy / jam-based sound, rapping sounds a bit oldschool-ish tbh which I'm not a huge fan of, but interesting stuff

Yeah had heard it a while back. Not really revisited it though. Was enjoyable for what it is, very jazz rap, just yeah not fully my thing.

I hear ya, but I haven’t seen any other review give that good a sense of the actual music. Also it’s just formally interesting. Much prefer these types of reviews than the typical copy-and-paste template that’s so popular

yea 100% the music review has become really stale formally for sure. On rym I mostly ignore reviews entirely

I dig that they just make short points mostly instead of making every point a whole paragraph (tho later on of course it ends in paragraphs too)

Might be a bit premature, but I think Gumbo is going to be my favorite slums project of the year. I thought Disco had it in the bag, but I f***ing love the direction Siifu went on this. Neo-Soul so timeless
