It’s crazy cause I’m not anti vaxx but I also understand black people being hesitant And cautious of vaccines and doctors in general. But some niggas take it To the next level. Like I be feeling niggas saying they a lil on the fence about certain vaccines but then you’d have a nigga go too crazy

I can get being anti-vax, but I don’t get being all upset about having to wear a mask in public. breathing into other people’s mouths isn’t even sanitary in the first place. like you don’t need to trust doctors to believe that

Not accusing them all, just saying it shouldn't come to a surprise if any (not all) were on that wave.

Sidebar I don't know why y'all make such a big deal about people being anti-vax and treat it as if it's some sort of damning character flaw. Whether we like it or not, people are free to choose whether to get vaccinations or not. People are fully capable of living a regular life with and without a vaccination.

Yes, getting vaccinations does help prevent the spread of certain viruses/diseases so it would be best that the majority of people be vaccinated, but y'all really need to stop demonizing these people being anti-vax, or using that as a means to discredit their intelligence. Especially if they're black. Black people choosing to be anti-vaccination is actually a form of a resistance as the healthcare and medical industries have a history of testing/experimenting all sorts of deadly viruses and "cures" on us. A black person choosing to be anti-vax is proclaiming their distrust of doctors and government approved medicine/vaccines.

I say all this as someone who has been vaccinated, and who has many family members who have also been vaccinated. We're all fine and as far as I know none of us are anti-vax. However, I have friends who are anti-vax and have never had vaccinations that are also fine and never suffered from any major virus. It is what it is there

It's engaging with misinformation and rooted in pseudoscience. Anti-intellectualism is an extremely worrying wave and being a proponent of that is not something to be brushed off. Immunization is a proven medical success. It's not something to be on the fence about.

People are not free to choose whether to get vaccinations or not. This is subjective to a country, an industry, a diseases status. Polio and smallpox were generally accepted as required vaccinations until mostly eradicated. The reason being they possess such high fatality rates. If you're of Indian descent you will most likely have been vaccinated for TB. This isn't the case in the US because of its eradication. Not getting a certain vaccination can result in your insurance premiums rising in certain healthcare systems.

As somebody said above that vaccines in lower-income neighbourhoods are "watered down poison". There is no modern widespread evidence for this in developed countries. And yes, incidents have occurred in the past regarding loose trials on minority communities and using them as a control group. In the USA, Tuskegee being the most high profile case. But this is not a case for modern distrust in medicine. Just as anecdotal evidence of friends who have yet to suffer consequences is not evidence.

Ultimately, vaccination misinformation can lead to serious public health consequences. A decrease in vaccination rates will undoubtedly result in a risk of disease outbreaks, potentially diseases we had eradicated.

of course you can decide to not vaccinate yourself and gamble with the possibility of completely unnecessarily dying or getting disabled over a tick bite, we could just call you stupid.

The point of major concern is parents not vaccinating their kids and indoctrinating them with the idea that vaccination is evil, that's just downright cruel.

As DwindlingSun said, the misinformation spread by ppl with a platform like Gibbs or Nas is anti-intellectual, anti-scientific, anti-factual. It's not ok. You should do your research and stop contributing to this yourself. If you want to do a good thing and care about your friends try your best to educate them too.

It's their life. They grown ass individuals. If that's how they wanna move then that's them. I just tell them the same thing I always do when speaking to any anti-vaxxer on the subject:

"I'm vaccinated and I believe there's no harm in being vaccinated. There's more scientific and historical evidence supporting the positives of being vaccinated than there are negatives."

If they still on that anti-vax stuff then that's them. I ain't stressing over it and I'm not gonna talk or look down upon them for it

I wasn’t vaccinated until I was 18 years old. because when I was a baby the doctor tried to insist I didn’t have an allergic reaction to it (when I clearly did) after the first vaccine. so my mom is anti-vax. she wasn’t like that until after that happened to me.
One thing is you have to recognize is that the government and pharmaceutical companies really don’t care if vaccines negatively affect 0.1% or even 1% of individuals. even if they do notice s*** like that, they will force it on us anyway because it’s in their interests. the government doesn’t want to have to deal with a disease pandemic because it’s a political nightmare, and the pharmaceutical companies will sell anything that can make money in the long term.
I’m on the fence because neither of those groups have offered me an explanation for what happened to my family 20 years ago, so I don’t blame my parents for being skeptical.

Wealthy folks have access to partial vaccinations that don't have the heavy and toxic metals like the normal ones do. It defintely has been an interesting debate for the past decade now
