Water GiverThere have always been a good handful of Rappers that have praised him.
Public Enemy, Cube, Jay, Cool J, Electronica etc. Even Pac for a lil bit but then turned on them.
Its was especially popular in the 80s & early 90s.
Theres even bars about it lol.
2pac did use some Farrakhan soundbites on Makaveli: The 7 Day Theory, but I imagine he largely rejected his overt reactionary tendencies
I can tell he admired the populism he showed during the Million Man March in the mid-90s.

I do have a lingering suspicion that the NOI was used by the U.S. Government to suppress black leftist radicalism in the 60s/70s in favor of the reactionary nationalist messaging sold by NOI, which would obviously divert into meaninglessness for the state to handle
The FBI did write fake anti-Semitic tracts in the names of Black radicals to divide the Black and Jewish community, and there is a "Jews controlled the Atlantic Slave Trade" book written by an anonymous individual within the NOI, but it is extremely well-sourced (from government/historical archives albeit misconstrued to fit a certain anti-Semitic narrative). It was obviously written by an academic historian with deep access to various sources, but they were never the audience driven to the NOI in the first place
Also the NOI has never been embraced by actual Muslims and is largely considered a idiosyncratic unaffiliated cult that basically used Islamic symbolism and some aspects of its theology for its own ends, no wonder Malcolm left after his trip to Mecca

It’s funny was readibg this old lyor cohen profile from 2001 in rolling stone where he talks about how when Professor Griff got Public Enemy in some hot water, Lyor took them to the Holocaust museum
