J Cole tried to do something nice but now taking an L lol.

So much better to keep quiet and make good music. No need to try to lecture anyone via music.

The thing about making a “conscious rap” song right now is someone going to find something wrong with what you say in it if you aren’t pandering to woke Twitter

People really wanted Cole to just make a song with woke Twitter bulletpoints

Bro. The world is so on edge right now, you CANNOT drop a song right now about the ongoing issues without offending a loud part of the population.

No matter how you slice it, you are getting dragged.

    Just have to keep quiet.

That’s not necessarily a good thing. People weaponize it when you don’t speak on things.

This WHOLE J Cole bullshit started because Kendrick and Cole didn’t post f***ing tweets

No, I'm glad he's staying away from dropping anything in an environment that's ready to explode on anything. Everyone is so on edge right now, it's better to avoid these types of situations.

That’s not entirely true. They’re not “conscious “ rappers IG, but Lil Baby and Meek both dropped conscious tracks and were met with love and appreciation, exaggerated or not

For the most part but soome people on Twitter were complaining that Baby said not all cops are bad

  • Jun 18, 2020

This too will past. People are just “on edge” because they’re unemployed and bored.

Yea , the J. Cole backlash has more to do with the Noname situation, and in a way it felt like the backbone for most of what he says on the track imo, so it’s not like people could just ignore it in a way

He pretty much went all lives matter on the track but people’s expectations of lil baby is on the floor compared to Cole and Kendrick.

I feel like some people are running with that excuse just because they want to hate on him but never got any actual motives to it, I fw the track but his tweets were kinda stupid tho

Eh Drake will never be cancelled. They usually try that every year with something (pedo s***, kid s***, etc.)

He could drop one, get cancelled, and be right back next week. Same thing with Cole. He’ll be “uncancelled” in a week.

He blamed black on black crime for Mike Browns death years ago and dropped the pandering album TPAB to shut people up that’s why I can’t praise that album because see it for what it is

I 100% agree. One of my favorite things about Drake tbh. He gives us lessons through his life and actions. He doesn’t need to tell us and talk down to us like conscious rappers do.

Yup. Cole or Kdot could have dropped the same lyrics and it would of been surgically dissected. Even Baby shooting a video in the middle of protesting, imagine that were Drake. The fake Black Panthers were even paid actors for it apparently. Yet they called YG out about that same thing. It’s all pick and choose on any given day tbh.
