What makes you think his career is coming to an end? @op
How he talks about music and the product he’s putting out, he’s clearly still in love with the craft

    Telling ya

IMO there’s a few reasons why this s*** not ending any time soon but really the two reasons are what I said above

    1) he love this s***

    2) he going for B’s and the faster he can re-up for another 500M deal the better. That’s part of his prolificness rn

Commercially he has been yeah, he’s not as big as he was 5 years ago despite still being huge and he hasnt had a mega hit since Scorpion era

Quality wise he slowed down around that time too. It obviously fluctuates like Her Loss is probably his best project within that time frame but still doesnt come close to NWTS, that’s iconic music

1)He told Nicki how much he still enjoyed making music and albums and is still sharp. So, that doesn't sound like someone who's going to be done any time soon

2)The desire for his music is obviously still so, so great. It's very successful.

3)His deal. He's going for 1B+ club and the easiest way for someone like him to get there is to get through these deals as fast as possible so that he can renegotiate for a higher price point. Don't think it's quite 500M's, but if he can run through this deal quick af, he can re up again and again relatively quickly which means more deals, and more $ long term. He has no problems with getting the label to count his projects as albums so it's purely in his control how quickly he wants to get through this deal.

Stupid question, but how exactly does a deal like that work?

The quicker he makes Universal the 500M, the quicker he gets out?

Makes sense why he’s dropped two albums already this year.

All deals are different so who knows but my ‘guess’ is that like any traditional deal, you sign to label x for x amount of dollars, receiving said bread on the condition that you fulfill all of the obligations that you agree to one of which is number of albums turned in

Almost all record label contracts revolve around an album count in some fashion

So like my guess is the boy is going for legacy type s*** money wise and if the label is willing to shell out 350-500Ms per deal, then why not get through that deal as quickly as I can so that I can another massive deal.

Quicker he finishes this deal, quicker he gets back to the negotiating table

Both pretty close, especially Life is good which ngl i forgot about, but I'm talking like billion stream in the first half year type hits that usually only pop stars (Harry styles, olivia rodrigo, nas x recent examples) can achieve. Tracks like one dance, god's plan. Those two tracks you mentioned were huge hits but not that level
