I'm a killer, he's a killer, she's a killer, b****, we some killers, walkin zombies trynna scratch that itch
MMBS was triple plat before Like That
Ktt memes are not real life
I went to the tour for that album and the entire arena was filled up no problem.
We’ve seen artists actually struggle to sell seats in arenas and Kendrick has zero problem in doing so.
this is such bullshit.
The first goal of entertainment is to entertain. I dont care about the intent of various art projects. If it’s a creative piece, fine. Dont ask people to listen to it then.
Legitimately one of the stupidest things I've ever read
There really wasnt a coherent statement made w the album imo, the kyrie/kanye-like 5g/vaccine/cancel culture commentary rlly drags down the album even though the songs that were reflections on trauma were great. Feels like bro was critiquing everything without rlly delving into anything meaningful in those moments. Worldwide steppers is a great example of this like what the hell is bro actually tryna say lol
Also musically it had so many lacklustre moments like purple hearts, die hard, the baby keem interlude, silent hill, the prod just wasnt as exciting as kendricks best and the attempts at making poppy songs are like kendricks worst in his discog imo
I don’t think he was necessarily trying to make a statement with the album like past albums. The interludes let me know that this album is supposed to play like Kendrick just venting out all his thoughts to his therapist and attempting to understand why he did what he did with the help of Whitney and the therapist and himself accepting his traumas.
So track 14 ruined the album for you? That’s fair lmao. And idk I really enjoyed the beats and sound direction he decided to take on here, it was refreshing to what I’ve grown used to, much like damn. I guess I just don’t hear the “pop approach” everyone keeps referring to, but I’m sure it exists if you noticed it.
Purple Hearts and the Keem interlude:duckhah: we just gonna have to agree to disagree on that one
N95
Rich Spirit
Count Me Out (good song ruined by tiktok drums)
Silent Hill
Mr. Morale
Funnily enough these all flopped on TikTok while United in Grief, an actually good song, was an organic hit there
What the f*** are TikTok drums
Hell nah you gotta be trolling

"flopped on tik tok"
He was still on a record breaking tour for Mr Morale last year and on major gigs like headlining Glastonbury. any time Kendrick returns after a break with a single/feat has always been an exciting moment, this is just to a larger extent cus came out the gate with two #1 hits in 6 weeks and won a major battle
Definitely, people were clowning the album when it dropped, especially on here. Complete 180 at this point
They trying to rewrite history...

Although I disagree, you’re the only user itt who has differing views, but legitimately listened to the album and formed your own opinion on it (from what I can tell) and that I can at least respect. 98% of people who say s*** like “tiktok bait” gets their opinions from the hive mind of others
Wait did u unironically think he was anti vax with the Kyrie line?
Guess i remembered the context in how he brought it up wrong but its moreso the mention of covid and ppl changing their mind abt the vacine without any underlying message, like again hes just just pointing contradictions and hypocrisy out without making any real statement or taking a stance

The last Mr. Morale show was March of this year
he’s been on tour since June 2022 but let them tell it, the album flopped
you are deluding yourself if you disagreeing with the thread title
kendrick stans sounding like drake stans when they claim all his music classic
Mr Morale was dope as f*** to me genuinely
But I do think the next album will definitely be better, I don’t think Mr Morale was a super inclusive album like it was for a certain type of person while I think this album probably will have more wide appeal
He posted it up top on page 5
Just saw
Fair criticisms. I don't agree with all of it but bro made some points

No one in this thread said Morale was a classic
But it was only a disappointment to those who couldn’t appreciate what it had to offer
Yall so corny to boil enjoyment of an album down to whether someone is mature or "healed". Yall really no better than "You need a high IQ to like Rick & Morty" ass niggas fr.
Same dudes saying “drake needs to go to therapy”… like who the hell is anyone to take kendrick’s advice on anything because he’s a reformed gang member that drake needs to take advice from for life maturity?
Legitimately one of the stupidest things I've ever read
Cool. Name some bad art that you like to consume.

Yeah i can get that reading of the album, to me was just still disappointing musically but yeah thats obv subjective to ur taste, personally i dont see it w baby keem so a lot of those moments didnt resonate with me
Also i fw saviour, its one of my fav songs on there cause theres a clear message
