A couple of Carti’s songs he dropped on his burner ig had more views than the whole 100 gigs combined.

Ig s*** is an excuse, the songs just didn’t hit

you'd move the goalposts out of the building if they'd fit through the doors homie lmao

    look at you go

How is that moving the goalposts? I’m telling you that the songs being on instagram is not an excuse and used Carti as an example. That’s pretty in line with what we were talking about.

I don’t think you actually understand what “moving the goalposts” means

Carti hasn’t released anything since 2020, while you’re comparing him to an artist who drops multiple times a year. Plus, Drake posted on his burner IG account, and his tracks still charted—so it’s not even a fair comparison. This is you moving the goal posts

you’re in every Drake thread 24/7; maybe it’s time to just admit you’re a fan. Your internet street cred will be just fine, I promise

I’m saying that Drake songs flopped even by instagram burner standards. Carti dropped on his burner too. Which I’ve already said.

100 gigs pack combined 17 million. H00d by air alone did 22 and that’s the lowest viewed track. If Carti dropped his songs on DSPs they would’ve charted too

I have no problem saying I like a lot of drakes music. That doesn’t mean I have to lie to myself and act like the 100 gigs songs didn’t flop

It’s not about a number being acceptable or not. It’s just yall are on here acting like he did some crazy s*** by dropping on his burner account. The songs made minimal impact and yall are trying to push them like they’re hits.

You're the one pushing the narrative that 100 Gbs should have been better received—not me. But you haven't even defined what "better" would mean.

I'm not claiming Drake did anything groundbreaking by releasing music on a burner account; I was just pointing out that tracks dropped on a low-key account aren’t going to get the same numbers as tracks released with streaming metrics in mind.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time understanding the point you're trying to make. Drake is a musician, musicians drop music. But you seem to be more concerned with how many clicks they got rather than just enjoying them

That’s not what I’m doing. I’m simply saying the songs flopped. I don’t really care about what they should have done, I’m just telling you the reality of what they actually did.

The only reason I even brought up Carti is because you tried to use the “he dropped on his burner IG” cope

Charting means nothing in this era with how the charts work. YB has a ton of song that technically “charted” that nobody knows outside of his fanbase

Of course. Drake stans will point to some streaming number that nobody irl cares about. But facts are--people think of Drake and Kendrick now almost joint at the hip. Can't think of one without thinking of the other. One of them won the biggest beef of their generation, the other lost.

Jay faced similar problems, but he had Beyonce/Kanye and the entire industry behind him at the time and the years have washed away a bit of the stain. Drake, unfortunately for him, doesn't have any of that in his favor. It's like Kendrick waited for the perfect moment to strike.

So what you're saying is nothing matters except you don't like it.
Which I think is fair but just seems like you're here to waste everyone's time.

Most of what Drake released this year charted, there are songs before and after the beef didn't chart. Multiple songs post beef that are Drake songs without full tracking weeks (only effects 1st week), MV, Artwork charted for multiple weeks. 3 out of the 5 Drake songs released post beef are still streaming well
    (only 4 still on streaming)

From an objective standpoint Drake is doing what he's been doing numbers streams chart wise. I personally like his 2024 output. It's cool if you don't.

We're in Elimination thread, so we're talking about how Drake is streaming charting numbers wise these days post beef.

No I’m saying you’re f***ing delusional trying to bend the definition of what a “hit” or a chart success is because it’s Drake.

You’re bringing up songs that charted in the 50s and s*** and then fell off as examples of people caring about the songs. Any big name artist dropping a single will chart in 2024.

That woman world Katy Perry song charted but nobody would call that song a success lol wtf

Charting is the definition of chart success.
Longevity on the charts is what you're talking about and a different story.
I don't know what Katy Perry song you're talking about as I don't listen to her my b.
I have yet to say any of these songs are hits.
I didn't say anything of these songs were anything more than songs with no push that charted. I haven't bent anything except show in various ways Drake is doing same as he ever wise looking at numbers streams consistency on charts.
I'm sorry Drake hasn't dropped a #1 Song for you

All you have to do is go on social media. Drake used to be bullet proof from about 2013-2018. Even during early 2020's he was a social media darling. Young people liked Drake. Now? He is like to get a negative response to anything he does. Whereas that was incomprehensible back in the day. Drake stans don't do him any favors, either

Damn you're telling me after a 16 year long career of never before seen commercial dominance he's starting to not be #1, shocking.

Plus young people who look at Drake like he's 38 don't listen to his music, again shocking.

Again. A song charting in 2024 for a week or two and they falling off isn’t a chart success for a big name artist.

But whatever bro. You need to live in your pretend world where s*** like housekeeping knows is a successful song so imma let you rock
