Why do people always feel like this is the alternative lol

Every other genre gets a long fine without talking about street s*** and they don’t have to sing about paying taxes lmao

Tired ass joke, and anybody who seriously believes that s*** is a bot with no feelings or imagination

not to mention a lot of the most iconic rap songs aren't about street s*** (at least not explicitly)

tired of all the threads being made on it

this will be THE thread to end this discussion

another thread gets made the very next day about why rap is “dying”

Rappers just aren’t competitive anymore, no one wants to be the best. No one is trying to have the best album out anymore

There’s nothing we can really do to change that

Jack gets so much unnecessary hate on here it’s insane

I think something that gets overlooked a lot is that for most of human history doing music wasn’t something that made you wealthy or even famous (unless you were EXCEPTIONALLY gifted like Bethoven or something). It wasn’t until the Industrial Revolution of last century that there was a music INDUSTRY and it kinda became a gold rush

Now that the industrial era is coming to an end and the Information Age is well underway maybe music is returning to its baseline level of being a niche vocation that only really creative people do and not just something people are doing to try to get rich or commercially dominate

This doesn’t have anything specifically to do with rap just a thought about the music “industry” overall

Just listen to what you like

Why do you need "your" personal favorite rap to be on top

Whatever type of rap you like is still being made, why are rap fans so hell bent on perfecting the mainstream of the genre

    get back to non streaming

there is no incentive for upcoming acts to consistently make great projects like from 2008-2016 when itunes was at it's peak
