Dont even have to be Drake level or anything. He, She or Them can be Lil Uzi, Carti, Trav level.
Closest seems to be Yeat. But im not even so sure about that. His prescence doesnt seem as pervasive as the the prior mentioned.
Maybe someone the general public havent heard of yet.
Regardless drop some names.
No one right now. None of the up and coming rappers are worthy of that title. We desperately need it though.
nobody currently making music
at the moment it's all either actual megastars like taylor swift or smaller acts with buzzy moments here and there. might readjust again in a few years
Travis, Carti, Ice Spice. That's pretty much the new generation
Doja Cat is top 10 on Spotify monthly

She's more of a pop artist but yeah I agree she's rap adjacent
None. They all have fanbases but all lack universal appeal beyond being a rap star. Some artists(particularly female rappers like Ice and Latto) are trying to force themselves in the pop lane but they’re clearly not ready to enter that territory
If Carti is the next big superstar in rap I hate this world. Let that dude stick with his cult fan base

Well the good news is that he'll probably always choose his aesthetic over commercial appeal. So he'll probably never be huge huge. But he's definitely "Internet" huge

Kinda makes you wonder why Trav is big and Carti aint when Trav does the same thing.

Travis makes music that appeals to larger audiences, Birds was his crossover album and even further with Astro. He's like a radio friendly Carti
Carti Yeat Lucki
But I think it will splinter off to where Big 3’s last more like <5 years than 10 and I also think there will be a separate big 3 of niggas who can actually rap
Nah man, it has to be someone that's Drake level. Because for the rap game to really progress in the mainstream, there needs to be someone who can surpass him musically and sales wise.

Doja Cat can dance and sing and Drake can't do either so

Someone new not on the scene/or at least someone we're not aware of imo
I don’t think there ever will be another superstar in music
Dua Lipa?
Billie Eilish?
Olivia Rodrigo?

He's too inconsistent with drops and spiteful to fans to claim that spot.

Will never happen again, part of it was that he came out in the late CD era and was able to build a brand before the internet was as big as it is now + no streaming

True, I do get the argument that the barrier to entry for rap has been lowered so much over the past few years. To the point where people with like less than 20 songs under their belt (like actually created, not even always released) are blowing up and having to learn on the job. Like Ice Spice for example. You can see her gradually developing as a rapper, things that most people in the CD era had to have to even be considered.
Having that struggle to get your music heard that Drake, J Cole and Kendrick went through is what helped and forced them to hone and refine their skills or face having to stop music altogether. But with TikTok especially if you get lucky then you skip all of this and land in an unprecedented scenario skill-wise.
