At this point, I just need to know. Are you a wannabe capitalist? Do you not understand the theory enough, are you fundamentally confused as to what socialism is? Apolitical entirely, blind to the facts, etc.,?
I simply want to know how one can live in this world, with all the failings of capitalism laid bare, and still not search out that better alternative.
Because socialism isnt the better alternative.
Its still capitalism, just not Neo capitalism like in the US
I wouldn’t know. You’d think I’d be one by now considering all the threads that get made here by teenagers advocating for socialism or communism.
srs question synopsis, why socialism and not communism
They should be used interchangeably. Socialism is just the lower stage. If you're a socialist who says they aren't a communist, you are just confused.
I enjoy luxuries and I want to continue enjoying luxuries
So you fall into the fundamentally confused stage, unsurprisingly.
its more constructive to educate yourself by way of socialism with a marxist lens as I see it. I'd say its easier to be a communist than it is to radicalize the political beliefs of your surroundings and bring about change that people need urgently on an electoral level.
so in short, I'm a communist, but to not be active in advocating for socialist policies in the interim time would be privileged and counter-productively apathetic
I'm pro whatever works
I thought like this too once, but the term working can mean a lot. capitalism for example, will never work for the proletariat or the nonworking class poor. so therefore, we can not be in favor of it.

well yes obvs we should support anything that gives more power to the working class in the mean time but we have to do so while also maintaining a doctrine of anti-imperialism.

I don't think thats fundamentally confused. I think thats fundamentally natural.
Since the dawn of civilization there have been people living in excess. It's human nature to want more because we are naturally selfish and because we want to leave things behind for our offspring.
I want to make a lot of money and buy a lot of nice things in my life because it makes me happy. And then I want to give all of those nice things to my kids so they have a stronger foundation to do even better things for their kids.

Come back when you don't have to fall back on the human nature argument.

we're on the same page, im moreso speaking to the red scare-core brats who live in Williamsburg
Because socialism isnt the better alternative.
