I like a few songs off of it but it’s no where close to AH level to me
after-hours is classic
My unbiased take in all of this is that Abel was able (lol) to sniff out how transactional OVO/Drake viewed their relationship with XO/The Weeknd.
They were both extremely vocal about how XO was planning on doing their own thing from the get go, yet Drake STILL dangles the “20%” thing, and “you won’t get away with just a thank you” etc.
I think Abel saw through all of that and wanted to keep his distance so Drake wasn’t able to say “I made your whole career”
I’d love to talk about this with someone with a level head lol lotta thoughts on this
the 20% of you that we own is my tootsie's money

Funny the Weeknd's albums back then were only 9 songs while Take care had 19 songs. Crew love and the ride wouldn't have done what they did without drake ,also without the weeknd.I think he just talked too much in those interviews and drake felt some type of way.
Crew Love without Drake would be perfect.
Always skips his part
Oh I even mean After Hours, Dawn and whats to come on September 7th even if its absolute dogshit it has more of a love of music than drakes recent 3
Whats the concept of Drake last 3 albums ? are they helping you in your day to day?
it's lowkey making it worse for him imo lol
all the studio footage, him and OVO Hush are damn near attached by the hip while he's writing verses
And it's showing how he switches into character mode when he gets in the booth
Nah. You just a d1 hater lmaoo
You can tell Drake is intentionally f***ing with him by getting in his face and raising his arm up
They definitely had something happen in 2012/2013
Oh for sure. It doesn't take a lot to get your feeling across and you can see in the last screenshot from OP that Abel was NOT cool with what he did. For all we know this right here could have been the moment that set it off, Drake choosing to react this way and get a leg up instead of respecting his individuality. He never knew Weeknd would get as big as he is now and was using his greater power of stardom to bully him.

All Drake's albums are compilations of experiences and relationships
I used to be the biggest Weeknd fan in the world but his music don't do much for me after Kissland. Outta Time is great but next to none of the rest of the songs from his past 3 stick with me
Such an interesting clip and even crazier seeing the BTS
You can tell there was already hella tension, that relationship was over
Love but artists but it is for the best for the both of them they went separate ways

Outta Time is my favorite recent Weknd track but it doesn't come close to Polar Opposites
how is a weakend album helping u in ur day to day
After Hours got me so drunk I ended up in the hospital i accomplished something good that day

This is definitely biased. By this time Abel had already snaked Jeremy out of writing credits on his Trilogy songs and f***ed him over when he cut him out of The Weeknd completely even tho the moniker was his idea that he came to Abel with. You definitely have rose tinted glasses when it comes to Abel in this era if you don't see how transactional he was already moving himself. Up until this point he'd gotten used to being the bigger fish but now he'd met an even bigger one, Drake, who he felt was giving him a taste of his own medicine. And unfortunately Drake can say he opened the door for Abel and there isn't a way to argue that point. Abel benefited from a Drake cosign and tried to shut him out
Anyone level headed can see what happened. To be clear I'm not saying Drake is a perfect guy despite what ktt considers me to be, an alleged Drake stan, but he did a lot for Abel more than Cash, Belly, or any of them other guys could do at that time. He got people anticipating a Weeknd project and all he had to do was post 3 songs on his blog. No one is trying to make transactional favors with someone sleeping in tents and dumpster mattresses. Are you that cynical to think Drake can't help a homeless man without wanting something in return?
Crew Love without Drake would be perfect.

That’s why the og version exists
