I wanna be more educated in Marxist / Weber theory / school of thought.
Any good entry point books y’all enjoy?
Would recommend Principles of Communism by Engels as well
Principles of Communism by Engels if you need an extremely basic starting point
If you want a detailed, comprehensive, dive into things, Anti Duhring by Engels is a great one

Meh, I think one of the things I remembered most was that he really drove in the point that US policymakers and agency leaders are not dumb or foolish, but they're actually very intelligent and tend to know what they're doing-- the intervention was one of them. He made good points on why NATO shouldn't be trusted in any capacity to deal with "peacemaking".
But I had to stop reading because I was getting slightly pissed off that he was framing the situation in Kosovo with ridiculous points like "Are Serbs really the new Nazis????????? No because remember Blitzkrieg??" forgetting the insanely far-right and Orthodox presence that the country retains while also idolizing late Yugoslavia as a paradise and his quips that were irritating me that smelled a lot like outright denialism than just being wary of NATO lies
But I haven't read it in ages before I got bored and peeved before I started reading Hadji Murat instead so I may need a fresher perspective on it before I judge the work

Yugoslavia is a vibe tbh
The WW2 partisanship and multiethnic makeup looks cool on the surface

I guess
It never fit any definition of socialism tho and was always a bastion of revisionist, class collaborationist bordering on social fascism dog s***

On account of those in the Balkans, people love Tito (except for Serbians and Montenegrins) because he represented a period of relational peace between ethnic groups, and turned one of the most tumultuous and (by Western European perspectives) "irredeemable" regions into one of the most burgeoning powers politically and economically.
He's in a similar vein to that of Ataturk, of when we look at these persons in a Marxist or even generally socialist lens, there's no adherence and they're even diametrically opposed in certain parts. But I still give them a degree of respect for practically doing the impossible. At the end of the day, you're right, he basically transformed into a social-imperialist.
There's also the "rule of cool" so political figures that are outwardly "cool" in regards to the general public are generally much more well-liked.
Why do american redditors always talk about euros being racist towards romanis, do they rly think they're what racist rhetoric in europe mostly revolves around? I mean in the Netherlands at least people don't rly talk about em
Not tryna act like they're not discriminated against i just don't understand why they focus so much on that

It gives them a point to be superior about, since they arent racist to Romanis. Of course this is only the case bc Romanis don't live in the USA
