German rapper Bushido has all these anti america lines during the bush era, s*** would get him cancelled these days. Germany is insanely pro atlantic these days

His lines are lioned and funny

"I am a friend of Osama, I think you're s***ting the bed George,
You love America, I don't have a passport
You spend every sunday on forums hating me
You sing in a Bach choir
Your girlfriend is examining my balls at night
    I commit murder at 8 o clock"

    Sir Real

Substituting precise categories for vague platitudes like “tyranny” is a very anarchist thing tho. It’s connected to the anarchist idea of identifying the primary contradiction as “repression” as opposed to exploitation

I don’t know that guy so wouldn’t have known he’s not an anarchist but those type of lines are absolutely a very common thing amongst American anarchists.

I’ll read that tho, it sounds interesting. There’s anarchists I genuinely really appreciate and I’ve always worked closely with local anarchists because them and the Maoists here have similar understandings of the need for militancy as opposed to the majority of “leftists” here so we share short term goals a lot of the time. But there’s also a lot of smooth brain anarchists here too that seriously repeat that type of nonsense I’m talking about. I know not all anarchists are on that type of time I was describing above but it’s definitely as significant trend amongst them

'Tyranny' can absolutely be just as precise a category as any modern terminology, you're being dogmatic in the completely negative sense of the term if you think otherwise.

"There is a shrewd warning to be given to all people who are in revolt. And in the present state of things, I think all men are revolting in that sense; except a few who are revolting in the other sense. But the warning to Socialists and other revolutionaries is this: that as sure as fate, if they use any argument which is atheistic or materialistic, that argument will always be turned against them at last by the tyrant and the slave. "

Then define tyranny as a precise category for me

IMO Mao’s conception of dialectics weren’t that good, he turned it into some weird mechanistic conflict a***ysis, and they’re descended from Stalin’s conception which tried to use it as a schema to describe everything, including reality, thought, nature, etc.

while he obv denounced it, he was influenced by Taoism in a latent cultural manner in the same way there's a latent spectre of christianity over western belief frameworks no matter how much belief systems attempt to decouple themselves from it

Raya Dunayevskaya said the same thing, but I haven’t seen any direct correlations

idk how much you’ve read of Taoism (I.e the Tao Te Ching) but Mao’s concept of contradiction and dialectics is literally just Taoist Metaphysics. Like literally.

Wasn’t that the original position of the dialectic - that all things are driven by opposing metaphysical forces and their synthesis? Before Marx’s materialist interjection?

Never feel that way. I’m a theory nerd but I have always learned the most through actual practice. It’s important to read and study but it’s more important to ask questions, learn in the way you can, and try to apply that knowledge to the real world

If you ever want some recommendations for introductory texts about a certain topic this is a great place to ask
