The amount of families that were executed along with the father who may or may not have committed a thought crime is truly f***ing insane.
Nestor Lakoba seems like one of the only decent Bolsheviks, one that wasn't signing gargantuan death lists constantly and managed to parlay his friendship with Stalin into a whole slew of benefits for his people in Abkhazia. After Beria poisoned him (for no reason other than Stalin's paranoia), he drove Lakoba wife insane by throwing a snake into her cell as they beat her teenage children to death in front of her. Just one of millions and millions.

heard about that Beria poison stuff before but is there any truth to it other Molotov words
and your gonna need to put some source on some of the more explicit event i’ve seen many terror stories of bolsheviks during the great purge that have no source or any basis to em.
From reading historians collective punishment was dealt out to the families of victims of the great purge but it was more so lack of employment and lost of benefits still horrendous, collective punishment should be a crime
