Occupying Iranian oil fields was done to prevent Germany from receiving oil during wartime, not to impose unequal exchange rates on Iranian production, nor to gain a monopoly in a foreign market. It wasn’t imperialist.

The oppressed nations within Iran saw the Red Army as liberators, with the Azerbaijanis and the Kurdish establishing people's republics on a socialist basis within the Soviet occupied territories. They would later get crushed by the Pahlavi dynasty when the Red Army was forced to withdraw from Iran

They didn’t invade it for economic gain, they did it to prevent Iran and subsequent supply lines in the area from fall to Nazi Germany

How is it “not true”

Were the Allied Powers not at war with Nazi Germany at the time? Iran was trying to remain neutral but was hosting German ambassadors at the time. There was genuine concern Iran would turn to the Axis Powers

If Iran would have closed supplies lies in the Persian corridor that the Allies were using during Land-Lease than the trade routes would’ve had to be much longer, going around the Arctic or Pacific

Denying enemy resources during wartime isn’t imperialism

And the Soviets didn’t sell that oil at an up charge for profits

Country invading another country isn’t imperialism.
