Not whats happening. Macron's refused to let the NFP govern under the pretext that Melenchon's LFI, an "islamo-nazi-communist" party, is part of it.

So Melenchon said OK, we'll sanction an NFP government without us if the platform stays the same. So now if Macron refuses the offer then he exposes that the problem with the NFP is not LFI but its left wing policies. And if he lets an LFI-less NFP form a government and they walk back their promises (which an NFP without LFI is guaranteed to do), then Melechon can further discredit the right wing of the coalition and present the LFI as the only real left wing party.
