I was a central committee member of a prominent revisionist party in the US for many years. my advice to you is to not waste your time -- you can work with individual parties on certain things depending on what you wanna do but don't become a cadre member, you will become burnt out and disillusioned. my advice is to study, get involved in mass movements, and get a job in an industry you believe is ripe for proletarianization. all these things would be a better use of your time in our current political moment. eventually their will be a revolutionary party in the US again but currently thats not a thing.

the longer the PCV clings to this whole election fraud narrative the more pathetic it gets. admittedly even i sort of got swept up in it but its pretty obvious like a month later that Maduro actually did win the election and nobody in the country even cares that much.

Can you all recommend some essential books for someone looking to understand the basics of communist theory?

I like "how the world works" by Paul cockshott. It's very accessible and not explicitly communist. But very marxist in it's a***ysis. I've heard people mention "principles of communism" by Engels. It's short.
