were there any other non authoritarian communist leaders past allende?!
"authoritarianism" is not a real thing, its just a post-cold war synonym for "totalitarianism". the basic idea doesn't hold up under any scientific scrutiny, all governments are class dictatorships.

seen it like 3 times, its a great movie thats overall very sympathetic to the BPP/Fred Hampton and the violent brutality that the state inflicts against well organized forces. obviously its not perfect politics but entertainment wise id rate it 9/10

You shouldn’t worry about that because anti communist propaganda can make anything authoritarian and therefore bad

the general western framing of communism is that it’s always ‘totalitarian’

right but thats a conspiracy theory. in reality socialism was the first truly democratic system for the masses since people's political involvement no longer hinged on whether they would starve to death or have a roof over their heads at night.

Vanguardism vs. Proletarian Revolution
Orthodox Marxists argue that Lenin’s idea of a “vanguard party” (a small, centralized party of professional revolutionaries leading the working class) departs from Marx’s belief that the working class must self-emancipate through mass movements. Marx believed that socialism could only emerge from a majority working-class revolution, rather than being guided by an elite minority.
Marx’s View: Revolution comes from the working class itself as they gain class consciousness.
Lenin’s View: A vanguard party is needed to guide and educate the proletariat to carry out the revolution, as he believed the working class alone would not develop a sufficient level of revolutionary consciousness without leadership
garbage definitions Lenin vanguard is created in context of emerging mass movements to take advantage of the momentum and push it forward rather than stagnate into trade union consciousness and decay
read Left wing communism an infinitle fisorder though over recommended by people who have no idea what’s it about to dunk of left communisms it actually does address this type of question
