Ultimately a marxist has to just study what capitalism is

So i always recommend starting with economics, not politics

Well the original book I recommended goes over all three of their biographies and also explains their ideologies

ARAK explains how to think like a Marxist, explains dialectical materialism etc

The mao texts explain his theory of knowledge and contradiction .. etc

I feel like these three things are probably the most important base of a socialist

I agree but when I first started economics was boring as f***

Though I eventually understood how important economics was after reading politics; the merging of econ with politics is how Econ became interesting to me

I also think this is what broke me is that I tried to save as much information on all the topics/ philosophies being addressed because I didn’t want to feel left behind my school system didn’t really teach me that much so I feel like there was a whole world I was unaware of

It's been really dope to see you asking all these questions and seeing people be so helpful in providing resources and insight

Makes me look forward to whenever I'm healthy enough to read on regular basis so I can do the same

Once u get Marx u have a huge basis for additional knowledge

Theres a reason we talk about this dudes books 150 years later

Then you can look up how some people tried to adapt this a***ysis into the real world (politics) or think about how Marx is relevant in the current day and what changes have occurred in capitalism since those days

U will find that the main mechanisms of capitalism have never changed

lenin and then mao built upon marxism

    hence, marxism-lenisim-maoism

some people are marxist-leninists and they reject some of maos contributions

Okay okay so basically get an economical understanding of what Marxism is because the ideology stemmed from the antithesis of capitalism figure out the fundamentals of that which would lead into the philosophical meaning of it and how it’s implemented in politics then that would lead me into the different variations of it throughout history with revolutions, anarchist, market syndicalism blah blah blah if I’m getting this right. I got some of these terms from Noam Chomsky and philosophy tube I didn’t really watch entire videos of them because I got frustrated

Oh yea I mean I kinda feel embarrassed asking but getting into this realm of thinking is extremely intimidating to do on your own and I 100% have issues with individual thought because it leads me to try to acquire things of my interests in the most unhealthy ways which explains my disorganization I’m super thankful that y’all have patience I always had issues in school because of not only the method of teaching but I feel like there was a learning barrier mentally

no reason to put pressure on urself, and force yourself, take as long as u want, it took me rereading state and revolution like 4 times to really understand it and I bet if I read it again ill pick up on stuff that I haven't noticed before.

The point is to understand the work not just read it. Seems like ur fearful on missing out on discussion dont worry about all that, most of this internet discussion is pointless anyway. Some of the stuff you'll just pick up on by being in the community for example with accelerationism is basically the thought that we should make things worse faster to bring the revolution faster, an example would be voting for Donald Trump believing he would make conditions worse faster than any other candidate therefore making a revolution come faster. Some of the best learning opportunity for me was to read through good discussion between people who know more than me so I can understand concepts better, personally reading through a discussion that Krishna and Arcade Goon had on this site about dialectal materialism and the superstruce/base was probably one of the best learning opportunities I have had. Also if hearing those makes you panic about another new concepts u have to learn dw, just reading Marx will help you get through them and honestly most terms you'll come across.

Also you cant just force yourself to learn a bunch of new concepts in a short period of time, sorry man the brain just doesnt work like that, yeah cramming for a test the night before will help you past but you wont remember what you learned the moment ur done the test, for that it takes slow gradual studying everyday, as little as one hour would be good so your brain can remember it. Also something you would never get with cramming is associating the concepts u learned with real experiences lets say you read about the Labour Theory of Value, and you go to work next day and see it in action, it no longer will be a vague concept anymore but an actual living moment that you can associate that concept with, enriching your understanding.

Personally I'd recommend you reading books just start with Marx and whatever Goon linked you with then just explore concepts that ur interested in, thats what I did. I started off with Marx and then read into Anarchism, that way you wont burn out cause it seems like with how ur handling it currently the burn out is eventually coming and the question is whether its sooner or later.

Also i would use videos as a secondary source to help understand concepts that u read about and still have trouble grasping rather than a primary source.

Omg the acceleration idea is absolutely insane idk if I could identify with that but I wouldn’t completely cast aside the reconstruction aspect of it but it feels super nihilistic in nature. Also I might really be rushing the process of something that really takes sitting down and a***yzing I think it def stems from some type of exclusion insecurity that you hinted at. Reason why I jump straight towards the video aspect of it is because they seemed be able to condense some of the subject so I figured I might as well go on a spree of watching the videos but as I watch some of them I’m more lost with some of the vocab they use and it makes me feel unintelligent
