Like I said, thats the hard truth. 90% of the time I see socialists get in this exact discussion and they try to pander to someones beliefs. "well maybe we can have luxury cars if this this and this occur" or some s*** like "well everyone might have this luxury so it wont necessarily be a luxury but youll have it"
like nah. just be honest. your passion is ferraris and lambos? thats tough lol can't say we're very concerned about that. youre taking it more personally than he is
if I can get concert tickets and music equipment at a reasonable price and live comfortably I think I'd be satisfied. I've never really cared much for huge houses or anything like that. I perfer experiences to possessions (even though some possessions can lead to experiences)
I feel like a lot of people deep down have this same mindset, but have been conditioned to love consuming, ya know.
Exactly. Humans are naturally inclined to form intrinsic and lasting relationships and aren’t really that big on everpresent material consumption
That's one thing people fail to understand. The likelihood of you and i seeing a socialist world in our lifetimes is very slim but that doesn't mean we can't leave the blueprints and carry on the struggle much like the people before us did. Political education is the foundation because people just simply dont know of any alternative to what we have now
Precisely

well ur more likely to be able to follow a passion such as music under socialism thats for sure
Yep! But the thing about socialism is that it’s not just about you and me, but about everyone down the line as well. I’ll plant the seed and miss out on the shade for the sake of my grandkids enjoying it you dig
yea it sounds like a decent idea but I have to look more into it
i mean you could follow it under capitalism too but youd just be left for dead if you failed
dont throw stones pal half the time I see you posting its arguing with frankito over the same s*** over and over lol
Frankito constantly harasses me and other Muslims simply for being Muslim so that’s why I go at him the way I do. You on the other hand just talk s*** and act like you’re a f***ing genius but can’t even give people who question you straight answers.
i mean you could follow it under capitalism too but youd just be left for dead if you failed
how could socialism be incorporated into the music industry
for example

Block button isn't hard to find lol, you could stop seeing his posts right now if you were so inclined. Youre the only one taking that post as "talking s***"
how could socialism be incorporated into the music industry
for example
no idea, some people think certain forms of music would be gone completely (not sure much about rap anymore but for example when a major theme in rap was growing up in poverty and overcoming struggle, that experience may not exist in a socialist society)
but you could prolly have some national or state institutes that funds projects, and then the artist would just own the sales? or you could nationalize record and distribution labels??
i don't know how exactly music industry works now but we wouldn't see anything predatory and exploitative like spotify

Didn’t say that specific post was "talking s***" but you are a smug a****** who talks about socialism on here but gets pissed when someone actually tries learning from you because you know that you aren’t mature or smart enough to teach.

let those feelings out my guy ain't gonna offend me none lmao
ah I see. the price of many luxury items (and basic human commodities lmao) are inflated beyond reason anyway.
It does seem like it would bar some things that are genuinely expensive from being obtained though. For example, if someone really loved cars, and it was their dream to own/drive a supercar, how would they go about that? Since the price of items like that would be very hard to lower.
u on some metaphysics of banana s*** rn i fw it
what tendency would u say u are dengist? we tend to be anti sectarian here so it doesn’t matter
lirl oh my god bruh
what tendency would u say u are dengist? we tend to be anti sectarian here so it doesn’t matter
lmfao
Sorry I have people in real life who aren't predisposed to reactionary nonsense that I would rather teach and talk with, but i guess all the posters who have thanked me for teaching/talking with them don't exist anymore. this is ktt, do well to remember that. or maybe we should have a running list of all the people we've converted to socialism on this site lmao
I agree that a lot of the people on this site are ignorant as hell, yes. However when the rare opportunity comes to teach don’t just automatically jump to attack those seeking knowledge especially when they have proved they are serious about discussion. And honestly if you don’t think you can win hearts and educate why are you even here? To stroke your own ego and show off your so called superiority and intelligence?
damn.
@NeonBuddy art and writing are better examples to use cuz the music industry is so complex, but lets say you were some guy at a job and said hey im gonna write a book. you could take your idea to some national institute, maybe even a sample and they could say hey we'll publish this.
in the end there might need to be some sort of board? the thing is art is subjective end of the day so people can't be confused into thinking they'd just get to live and die making music that no one listens to without making some other sort of contribution to the community
I think I’m starting to get it now
but I can’t see this happening in my lifetime as @americana said
I genuinely believe we can see steps toward in our lifetime and if socialism can be considered the post-capitalist process towards an equitable society then it's worth fighting for
gotta acknowledge the small victories to keep from being hopeless but recognize its always a fight and always more to do

lenin didn’t think he’d ever see a revolution in his life until 2 years later

Depends on which nation tbh. But assuming you live in America then it’s a big hell no.

I wouldn't say "hell no" for the US. Not likely tho
but will revolution happen in this day and age?
that depends capitalism will always create the objective requirements for a revolution due to its unstable nature (recessions and depressions) but you still need the subjective forces (communists) to take advantage of this.
After the 2008 crisis the occupy wall street movement happened i don’t think it’s a coincidence that right after that class politcs have been erased and completely replaced with identity politics.
There’s also on going peoples war right now in India with the Naxales and the CPP in the philippines
