There is a discord but its dead
Longer-form discussion works better for these topics imo
I can get behind that, but realistically, it seems like it would be very difficult to convince an entire country to start from scratch.

its not impossible
obviously the netherlands started in the 70s which is why their cities are designed so much better but even in a city as dense as paris improvement is possible
It's incredible just how much Sankara's Burkina Faso achieved in the space of four years
the mf legend SANKARA

im here for yall <3
how could socialism be incorporated into the music industry
for example
well for one every worker part of the production process would get their worth in pay. no more f***ing over extremely essential personnel, engineers, producers, etc
that seems reasonable. are we (USA) currently in a position for everyone to make a liveable wage?
we are more than good enough. i believe studies conducted have shown that the productive forces equivalent to every single person on earth would mean everybody would earn a $70k salary.
that is if literally every single human got 1 equal share of the production of goods globally they would make the equivalent of $70,000 US dollars a year.
dont quote me on this cuz i dont remember it as well but i believe just in the us it would be roughly $175k a year
I'm actually nkrumah-toureist. I think it's the most logical ideology because it takes the universal principles of socialism and just applies them to an African setting

F*** discord fr
Much better if we talk out in the public so people can read along and we can get new members
Secret clubs are lame

"B-b-but if they get food they profit from it! Heh...."
^this is how retärds actually respond to that meme

I hate using Discord for public groups tbh. S*** just gets closed-off and becomes an echo chamber of regulars with information being locked away behind an invite/join.
At least here people can easily ask for recs or click on the links in the thread.
Depends on which nation tbh. But assuming you live in America then it’s a big hell no.
It could happen in America. It'd be very, very hard, and it probably wouldn't be typical of other revolutions in the past, but it could definitely happen.
More than likely, though, we'll probably achieve some kind of social democracy within the next century. If we're lucky. Unfortunately.

some fukin dweeb said in a class discussion:
"yknow prior to manifest destiny and whatnot the tribes themselves warred over and stole the land from each other for millenia"
i said
"True, but this is a disingenuous argument because the brutality Europeans inflicted on the tribes was no where near the level that took place in the period you’re talking about
There was systemic enslavement and genocide which had not existed in periods prior to manifest destiny / Columbus"
and he said
" >the brutality Europeans inflicted on the tribes
The Native Americans of the PNW lost approximately 90% of their population to diseases they had not previously been exposed too, which was not preventable or malicious (pg. 6). The vast majority of the conflict happened in the Midwest."
and im just over here like
don't evne know hwo to respond this genocide denying freak
the entire f***ing premise of their coming over here was malicious, doesn't matter how a specific part of the population died dude. all of the land is stolen
Anyone else here ever randomly pull up the boardroom scene from Dogma for s***s and giggles?

so i was listening to this podcast Revolutions and it goes over the russian revolution. They did some introductory stuff on marxism and a little on bakunin. I'd love to read some bakunin because a lot of his quotes seemed so intuitive and smart. Any recommendations? The only theory I've read was Pedagogy of the Oppressed.
