The whole idea of the nation-state should be abandoned in Africa tbh, if African countries borders were drawn according to ethnic demographics(which in practice this isn't really that straight forward either, especially when there's been a lot of migration and intermarriage) then there would be hundreds of countries and only further politically divide africa
