I recommend Wages of Destruction by Adam Tooze , the KPD and the NSPD by Davis Daycock (lol), and the Age of Extremes by Eric Hobsbawm which is about the 20th century in general but it covers the whole interwar period pretty well.

If you know German then Fascism and the Holocaust by Horst Haenisch seems very illuminating judging by his english reply to a critique of the book http://isj.org.uk/capitalism-and-the-holocaust/.

His main points are

Economics wise:

• The Weimar government succeeded in rolling back enough points of the Versailles treaty to revitalize the most internationally competitive sections of German capital
• The least internationally competitive sections of German Capital depended on expansion to thrive and so they threw their support behind the most expansionary/aggressive elements in German politics (the Nazis).
• By the great depression, the world's major economies retreated into protectionism and so even the internationally competitive parts of German capital were desperate for markets (more territory).

Politics wise:

• The weimar government fell into paralysis as to how they could crush the labor movement without inciting another revolutionary moment, and the solution ended up being letting the Nazis take over the government and decapitate the working class.
• The Nazis neutralized the socialist/labor movement before turning to the conservatives who "let them in" and taking over the whole of the government and military from 1934 to 1938.

Idk much bout WW2 but something that's always bugged me is this

Why did America support Britain to such an extent that it would enter not one but two world wars and even go so far as to arm the SOVIET UNION, which it was trying to overthrow not too long ago? Mind you this all happened long after the US became the world's biggest economy. What the f*** was that relationship? Help me out yall
