We are the most egalitarian society the world has ever seen

There’s no such thing as 100% equality

Lmao wealth inequality is at its highest in 2 centuries

The US wealth distribution in 2020 is worse than in France before the French Revolution in 1789

You're a f***ing apprentice caping for capitalism, don't you see how cucked this is?

"The Credit Suisse data reveals that just 1% own 46% of the world, while 66% of the world’s people have less than $10,000. Forbes also reports that just 67 billionaires already own half of Planet Earth’s assets"

Great equality there buddy Jeff Bezos alone is worth more than numerous COUNTRIES

None because socialism was too difficult to plan without computers existing. Your class will only tell the US view anyway so take whichever one you find easier

I make more than you, and I can tell you capitalism is cucking 99% of us. 100k a year isn't s*** in the grand scheme of things when people like Bezos exist.

I'll be making more once I start my business or work on government contracts

Who cares if Bezos is a billionaire? That doesn't affect my life, why do you care?

The point is he doesn't need nor deserves all that money.

It's just sitting in the bank chilling when it can be used to fund a whole bunch of stuff that would help society as whole.

You say you don't care about bezos because him being a billionaire doesn't affect you, then why does the thought of taking like 4% out of billionaires' pay checks to help out the less fortunate affect you?

People like you make no logical sense when defending billionaires.

    nytimes.com/1974/02/06/archives/solzhenitsyns-exwife-says-gulag-is-folklore.html

"Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn's controversial new book on Soviet prison‐camps was described as “folklore” by his former wife in an interview published here today.

Natelya Reshetovskaya told the conservative newspaper Le Figaro that the book, “The Gulag Archipelago, 1918–1956,” was based on unreliable information:

She also told the newspaper's Moscow correspondent that she was still living with Mr. Soizhenitsyn when he wrote the book and that she had typed part of it. They parted in 1970 and were subsequently divorced.

She said: “The subject of ‘Gulag Archipelago,’ as I felt at the moment when he was writing it, is not in fact the life of the country and not even the life of the camps but the folklore of the camps.”

It’s built on foundation on which it assumes anybody who has amassed wealth has only done so because they have stolen it from those that don’t have has much

It then tells those that don’t have as much, that they are morally obligated to take what’s been stolen from them back

Hence it inevitably creates a society where poor people who have never done anything good with their lives other than harbour resentment are suddenly justified in being allowed to enact the wrath of their envy upon those who worked hard/smart and managed to forge success for themselves

That’s why in my eyes it’s built upon resentment.

Obviously these kinds of poor people are a minority. But it doesn’t change the fact that it results in a society that is built on a warped sense of morality. It’s immoral

It’s built on foundation on which it assumes anybody who has amassed wealth has only done so because they have stolen it from those that don’t have has much

Not exactly. First and foremost, people amassing wealth cause others to not have as much, rather than stealing — "others" including those who aren't in positions to have such opportunities, those who aren't as ambitious in their financial goals, and those who were equally ambitious/hard working but were "unlucky" in competitive capitalism's game of roulette.

The continued accumulation of wealth for a disproportionate amount of people — a social funnel rush by design — increasingly splits the population into more distinct financial classes. And then we reach the model where amassing wealth means stealing from those who don't have as much, since the system has put them in that position by simply continuing to function as it does.

It then tells those that don’t have as much, that they are morally obligated to take what’s been stolen from them back

The accumulation of wealth is a de facto reallocation of funds. Wealth isn't increased by fantastical or artifical means — the money going towards the wealthier ends of society is money being taken from another part of society. We see this on a extreme national levels in the activities of conglomerates like Nestle and telecoms, it can also be observed on much more local scales too. Take public school boards — a concept that has proven to be a temptation highway for far too many participants. Board members living in cozy suburbs — in some cases without any children who attend schools in that districy (or at all) — who accumulate wealth from bribes, and worse: embezzlement of school district funding; especially when it involves high ranking athletics, in which better athletes are manipulated into better districts in order to create more funding for a reputable sports program. (Though not all of those funds make their way back into the school.)

Meanwhile, teachers are being paid so little because the school has to put its (less than expected) funds into the things they're told — and then teachers send their students home at the end of the first day with a list of supplies that they "ask" the parents to buy for "their kid" (i.e., the entire class). Supplies that should be provided through school funding, or at the very least pre-budgeted into the teacher's salary to cover costs without lessening their pay. What's scarier is that this scenario is the kind of thing that happens in "good school districts," so it shouldn't need to be explained how that effects the districts/outlying schools (and their educators) that don't receive as much funding because the good ones take priority. Not to mention the impact on the students.

Washington D.C. has also created its own subculture out of extremely similar behavior, which spreads through the nation in state and city governments. I believe they call it lobbying.
