Transferring your population and attempting to stamp out the native culture is colonialism. This s what russia did
Does it make what happens to Palestine any more acceptable? Of course not, it's not a degrading comparison but for logical consistency you should probably support both
There is also an extremely sizeable pro Russian zionist element
You have no clue what colonialism is
When you transfer large swathes of population and stamp out the native culture, its either colonialism or a form of oppression strong enough that it may as well get lumped in with it
It simply isn't. You can denounce the Russian invasion and defend Ukrainian resistance without drawing these tortured parallels.
I'm not talking about the present day invasion, I mean everything that happened from the 1700s and under tsarist russia
Sidenote but putins russia resembles that way more than the ussr

I'm talking about that time period too. It was a province of the Russian Empire, doesn't make sense to call it a colony anymore than Scotland can be said to have been a British Colony. Theres no resemblance between Tsarist Ukraine and the British Raj or Russian Heilongjian, or even the Russian Cenral Asian and Caucascus regions.
