It’s based on fabrications and is written by a crypto-fascist
gonna read something about the dude too
Yeah dude by all means educate yourself on the topic. Would try to aim for more neutral, scientific historical books. While searching just know that it's an "information war" just like anything else, since it's such a controversial topic.
Ew reddit, but /r/communism and /r/communism101 has decent posts on it
These articles are OK, talk directly about that book. Sorry for linking articles about such a pro-communist website but these are the only folks who would even debunk the book in the first place.

can you explain the hidden imam to me
can you explain the hidden imam to me
You know what a Messiah is?
Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Mahdī al-Ḥujjah, also called Muḥammad al-Muntaẓar, the Hidden Imam, or the Twelfth Imam.
The evil Sunni Abbasids allegedly poisoned his father Imam Hassan Askari and his son Mahdi went inside a well to hide and disappeared circa 8781. He is the 12th and last imam, venerated by the Ithnā ʿAshariyyah, or Twelver sect, the main body of Shīʿite Muslims. It is believed that Muḥammad al-Mahdī al-Ḥujjah has been concealed by God (a doctrine known as ghaybah, or occultation) and that he will reappear in time as the mahdī, a messianic deliverer.
There is a well in the Holy Mosque of Jamkaran. If you have any question and want to talk to the Hidden Imam you can visit and drop a letter in the well. Inshallah he will visit you in your sleep with all the answers. Alhamdulillah

You know like Santa's little helpers, a messiah is Allah's little helper and ShiiTe Muslims are waiting for Imam Hassan Askaris Son to reappear and help em out of the jam they in.
Allegedly one of Imam Hasan Askari's wves was a Persian Mamacita

that’s what’s up
For real though I talked to some bartender and I gotta write like a 20 paragraph essay when I get back on s***work alone here in Japan s*** is nuts and totally shattered my preconceptions of the industry as being some wildly exploitative capitalist thing
For one just one interesting fact, apparently it’s overwhelmingly mostly women hiring other women, including mostly foreign women hiring local people. I don’t think I ever would have guessed that, although I assume this is a weird nuance only applicable in Japan. Similarly it surprised me a lot - I don’t think that’s the case in other places at all (definitely not developing countries for example or like, SEA countries like Philippines) that a lot of people really aren’t doing it for the money here but rather there is a high rate of people just doing it as some sexual fetish thing given what the wider culture is like otherwise. I think this fits into the stuff I was gonna write about the bizarre hyper-consumer culture here (consumption of people in a vacuum here is basically just seen as “eh whatever its normal” until you remove the consumerist context then suddenly people become culturally defensive about it again as a taboo) so I’ll just include it in that post

I’m not saying it isn’t and in general my views are still anti-sex work overall, but I think that the Japanese s***work industry (escorts at least) are kinda their own thing in how they mesh with the wider culture here. I’d honestly say the more “explicit” s***work stuff here - what you would generally think of when it comes to prostitution - is more a relic of the past. It’s not like idk, Thailand where there’s heavy s***trafficking (don’t get me wrong it does still happen ofc) into brothels. The escort stuff here doesn’t really seem to be about actual sexual activity - I would honestly say it feels like a weird intimacy replacement for the fact there isn’t psychotherapy here like in the west. Last night I was interested and I went down a Google rabbit hole and I was shocked at how many escorts here in their early 20s aren’t like poor or forced into the industry but rather genuinely there because they want to do so (something corrorbated by people I had talked to - and no I didn’t hire any escorts lmao so there wouldn’t have been a reason to lie to me)which is for a number of reasons including sexual exploration in an otherwise repressive society, or just like social reasons. I don’t think any of this is applicable outside of Japan but it fits into the wider picture here of how weird the culture is and how that interacts with wider alienation

What were the categories? Did you investigate the options?

I am under 24/7 protection by the Chinese communist party
Was listening to a podcast and they brought up that Japan and China tried modernizing at around the same time but only Japan succeeded by taxing the peasantry and turning that surplus into financing for capitalists, China tried but failed because it was much bigger so harder to carry out like that but also Colonial powers had their eyes on China more. I think this is kinda misleading
