Kinda my reaction when I read abt fisher talking about the cultural cancer of neoliberalism infecting itself in the very fabric of social relations

Like yeah it’s bad that capitalism has become so entrenched but that’s the final goal of any ideology (when viewing neoliberalism as an ideology that advances capitalism). Socialism aims to transform culture into something synergetic to the productive system itself just like capitalism. Why else did the cultural revolution need to exist?

It does little to address the material inhibitions of capitalism that neoliberalism cannot solve via things like virtual/fictitious capital, financial capital, service capital, etc. The contradictions exist and neoliberalism does nothing to change the fundamental contradictions in capitalism’s mode of production, so there will inevitably be a failure that will require an alternative

IMO it is useful as a framework of a***ysis. That doesn't mean you can step there tho, the book is like diagnosing a disease, not a book on the cure from said disease

I havent read it in years but doesn’t he work to make such a conclusion that the neoliberal system will be subject to collapse before revolution ?
