I’m deciding if I want to remain in my job. It’s decent paying and don’t need to do much like literally most of the team works like 10 hours a week. Or would you rather a high paying 300k+ job that’s immensely stressful.

Feel like I’m getting complacent but I can also work on other projects during this job.

    Really depends on lifestyle
More money is always nice. Can afford nicer cars, nicer homes, meet more successful people. Is that worth the additional stress?

High paying as in 250-300k+ TC. Solid paying like 150k-220k

Take the solid and find a workaround

That additional 100k isn’t gonna be worth the stress and lowered work/life balance. Unless you desperately need that extra 100k for future purchases

I did the high stress last year but I had a very bad manager. I wanna go back at it again because folks make 500k to a mill on a yearly plus I specifically came to the company for that job. It's pride and ego but it gets me upset seeing colleagues I started with making more bread than me hitting like 400k in the year when they were the ones looking to me for help in being good at the role.

The lower end of that solid paying job is almost 3 million in my currency. Definitely taking an easy job that would make me a millionaire in a year

I make like 72k (I'll be making 90k+ in a few years without any additional responsibilities via the seniority pay scale) and I have time to write and do whatever I want and I'm pretty happy with it. 150k for that would feel like robbery

But it's about making a lot to get out the rat race. I had a goal to hit a mill by 30. I was honestly on pace with a combination of high paying job and playing the markets then last year, I just got crushed and have to restart. I'd still like to get out the rat race, but need to think about it over, because my strategy didn't work. We should all aspire to get out the rat race tbh. I hate working

Imma be honest I make about a 5th of what you made in Houston, so if you wanna listen to a bum

My best advice is something a millionaire told me in tech when I was still job searching in that area. Work at a company for about 3 years and if they don't want you after 3(you'll know). Leave.

Maybe freelance work might be in your future but definitely not with the high stress job. Good luck

Bro if you only knew how far from the actual rat race you are LOL.

How old are you? My brother in law just turned 42 and he only just now hit the numbers you talking about, for perspective

I’m 26. I had my whole life planned to pretty much have a bunch of bread saved up, be able to start a family and pretty much have enough bread to create a recurring salary by like 33. Again I got wiped out last year so starting from square 0 so I’d consider it rat race
