it peaked at number 23 on the hot 100 charts which is the metric im using, sure it hit number 1 on the alternative radio but look at the competition it had

and yes that's exactly right it was the last single and the fatigue of the era set in, so if it released in an alternate era as a lead or follow up single it's hitting number 1

These charts are all over the place. Either way it should've done better but like you said the fatigued set in by that point and hindered the song from achieving a higher peak.

new romantics by taylor swift was quite successful but definitely got overshadowed by blank space and shake it off

count on me by bruno got overshadowed by all his previous singles

take me with you was overshadowed by purple rain, doves cry, lets go crazy and die 4 u

I feel like people were kind of tired of Dancehall Drake when this dropped, this deserved a video and more push, also the intro wasnt needed
