It’s like how he gave names to Tom & Pretzel Girl. Noticed qualities about them & he gave them a name. For Robotnik it’s cause a lot of his robots look like eggs.

overall i think it was a good expository movie to sonic as a movie character
dr eggman exposition was wack, but based on where he ended up i can tell that his character in the next one will basically be a reboot anyway so i guess that's fine

the "no place like home" subplot sucked lol

however, despite how lacking in real substance other than sonic-character-development this is, i thought the humor was pretty good. some jokes were too much "look, irony!" but some of the character interactions were funny. it's really weird how the olive garden ad is so blatant zeitgeist is really different now

Sonic OVA is still better to me only cus it has any actual sense of being a story, but this is still pretty decent
