i dont mind tho
if its a crazy ass game like last of us 2 or tsushima
i'd pay a hundred even
easy
Physical games won’t be a thing by the end of this console gen.
It’s getting phased out real soon, 2-3 years tops.
not true
There's a real psychological barrier between $59 and $69. $59 is rounded down to customers as 'pretty much $50' but $69 is really $70 and that's all the much closer to $100. And of course it's compounded if you're buying two games for $120 (basically $100) vs $140 (basically $150)
yall thought games were 50 this entire time? I always felt the grip about $60 bucks lol

Wasn't aware DE wasn't even offered in some countries tbh
Physicals can still live on, but I don't see that being a thing in America, to be more specific.
I'll take the L if I'm wrong.
But in this pandemic and people staying home, digital has become more of a thing than it ever was.

its not a L
its just a simple truth
people dont be having internet like that, its as simple as that
did u know that there are some places where the country is not accepted as a valid country for the PS Store, so it's a hassle to even buy digital (even through gift cards and anything plus especially the problem with the internet to begin with)

Yeah, I understand people don't have good net around the country.
But 30-40gb patch updates are a thing. And if you want to play online or have the updated version of a game, you must download this huge patch, which essentially is the entire game + any fixes they included.

no way tf

im talking the world
im talking that theres deadass countries where they're not VALID countries to choose on the PS Store
unavailable
you need like 1,5mbps for solid online presence

Okay, I just said in the past post that I wasn't aware that other countries weren't getting a digital edition.
And I redid my whole point to just talk about U.S.

Your last sentence is what I've been saying.
I'll give physical games (In the U.S.) 3-4 years till it just dies off slowly.
Sony/MS already releasing consoles with no disc drives in them to let us know it's coming.

nah i know
im jus saying in general for the world, its not that case
ofc tho, the emergence of discless consoles is pushing you to adapt
Legit don't know why this whole physical game/slow Internet is even a thing with consoles.
Physical gaming on PC been dead for the past decade.
If you go buy any mid-high end gaming laptop it has no optical drive. Even if you build a computer, what are the chances that you're gonna spend the extra $50-60 bucks on a optical drive in 2020?
no way tf
I guarantee you there is. It's similar, but not completely the same, as the psychological effect around $0.99, which is perceived as less than $1.00 despite the very minimal difference, and $599 vs $600.
Again, not completely 100% the same, but I bet if there was a study done on this exact price change I'd be right en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_pricing

the other day i bought a game and my girlfriend (who has never owned a game system or bought a new game herself) was shocked that games were $60. she was pressed about it "games are $60??????
theres very few games that i buy when theyre new anyway, usually get used once i see how the public reacts to them
I'm not paying $70 for a video game. That's like calling another man daddy.
So I shouldn’t have a problem with it then
