Crazy thing is the games are 100% still gonna cost $70-$80 at launch even though a big factor in that price point was due to physical copies being produced
No remember high priced games are good because broke people aren't owed fun!

Yeah, sad news

I'll always remember buying new GC/PS2 games in the store, coming home and examining the case, reading the booklet first, etc.
Convenience will be the death of us all
The death of mass level events we all had a great time with
Just stay home in your algorithm induced niche and buy things and watch ads

No unified ecosystem for 1-3 parties to just have a 4K digital movie storefront, instead the old white men in charge are fragmented

That's another aspect I forgot about. If you own physical movies & shows and use your PlayStation to watch them, can't do that either with the PS6 now
Not gonna read the thread but I can imagine the same corporate cocksucker is in here for all 13 pages

Depends how long Microsoft is willing to bleed money for Xbox though

The only negative against physical media is the storage aspect, but unless you literally live in a broom closet there's no reason the average person wouldn't have enough storage space in their home for physical games. Most people don't even buy more than five new games a year anyway
That’s cap. If I want to play another game I can do so without ever getting up. If I want to buy a new game, I can do so instantly and begin downloading.
If I only owned discs I have to get up, eject the disc, put it back in the box, store it, find the game I wanna play, insert the disc, go sit back down. If I want a new game I have to either take my ass to a physical store or order it and wait days for it to ship to me or pay some doordasher extra money to pick it up for me.
