All I see Xbox coasting on is legacy franchises like Halo and Gears, and while they're good games, the last time they peaked in relevance was 15 years ago or more
They've been unable to capture the "magic" they had back in the OG Xbox/360 days where they really had banger exclusives and didn't need a bunch of massive studio acquisitions to make up for it
OTOH it's good that Xbox/MS hasn't locked away their acquisitions with big multiplat games like COD, DOOM, etc.
The issue is that you are playing console exclusives what? Maybe 25% of the time at most?
The vast majority of gamers, including casuals, are spending most of their gaming time playing multiplatform games you could play on Xbox too. How often does a console exclusive that you REALLY want drops on PS5? Once or twice a year for most, if that.
Not to mention the best console exclusives on PlayStation aren’t even their own first party games. They’re just games that either decided to skip Xbox or were paid by Sony to be console exclusive.
People should’ve copped a series S or X. Get your fifa, your 2k, your GTA’s, etc on Xbox and take advantage of Gamepass. Sony would have actual competition, Xbox would be able to put out better exclusives, and we don’t have Sony running around like pac

Xbox game pass is still a crazy value is the issue. They need a build your own plan but the current get everything day and date then also third party games is crazy value . Then doesnt help fund all their first party studios and eats up their game sales

game pass is dying in terms of value proposition, I don't think they're gonna have the hot exclusives on there day 1 for much longer
this "reset xbox" initative by asha sharma is brutal with the layoffs and I think its gonna affect their service offers too

it also doesn't help that helix will probably cost nearly as much as the PS6, which seems to be upwards of $1k+ USD

I had an Xbox 360, I would've bought a Xbox One if Microsoft gave me a reason to buy their product (exclusives), but they didn't. Also hated the s*** they tried to pull initially with that console. Got PS4 and that locked me into PS5 because I wasn't about to just throw away all the PS4 games I bought

Series X is a better console than PS5. Better features, better online service, FAR better subscription service. But gamers bought into Sony ecosystem with the PS4 and weren’t going to have it another way. They overrated mid Sony exclusives and put down Xbox any chance they got to make themselves feel superior.
No s*** Series X didn’t sell well. Gamers only have themselves to blame tho. Multiplats + game pass on series X, no PS+ sub and only playing console exclusives on PS5. If people did this then gaming would be in a great state
Eh, you're ignoring what Microsoft did the gen prior. MS fumbled XB1 badly so heading into this Gen the PS5 was always going to dominate off of that alone. Add to the fact that MS was releasing their games on PC from the jump, from an objective standpoint, PC + PS5 was the best combo to access all the games
I'm not going to go in depth on gamepass, but I will say that MS has put a freeze on making new deals for day one games recently.
Exclusives are what matters most and MS has fumbled exclusives since the end of 360 gen. It's no surprise gamers started to abandon them especially when they started releasing their games on PC. The output of their games have been better this Gen, but you don't need an Xbox to play them and a lot of them are from multiplatform studios they bought recently which were expensive to buy and the higher ups at MS want immediate profits and thus they can't make them exclusive

Multiplats + Uncharted, GoW, GoT, Spiderman far outweighs whatever performance/visual benefits Xbox might have. It's not Sony's fault Microsoft kept dropping fermented ass like Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, Starfield and fumbling their iconic franchises like Halo, Gears of War

Gamepass isn't sustainable. MS put a freeze on making deals for day one games recently. All you ever hear is how expensive making games are.
Gamepass was always Microsoft's last ditch effort at winning gamers over. The goal was to give gamers a low sub fee to access a large library of games and in return hopefully get enough subscribers to maintain the service at either it's current price or a small hike or 2. But that was never going to happen because the number of subscribers they need to sustain it would be huge

I think you're missing the fact a lot of people bought Sony stations for a single exclusive and stayed there causing their friends to buy the same system to play together
