Series X is a better console than PS5. Better features, better online service, FAR better subscription service. But gamers bought into Sony ecosystem with the PS4 and weren’t going to have it another way. They overrated mid Sony exclusives and put down Xbox any chance they got to make themselves feel superior.
No s*** Series X didn’t sell well. Gamers only have themselves to blame tho. Multiplats + game pass on series X, no PS+ sub and only playing console exclusives on PS5. If people did this then gaming would be in a great state

1996 BRL'Xbox' don't deserve sympathy, they would've made every Activision Blizzard game an exclusive if the FTC etc didn't challenge them
Although at the same time we've seen that Sony are just as willing to be scummy if they are dominant for too long

Imagine going to prison and coming out to find out $9000 worth of games have been deleted. We are going to see so many lawsuits on this it will hopefully get reversed or amended. At the very least they should be required to keep a list of all the licenses you have purchased and return them all to you upon reactivation.

This is EU only as part of their regulations regarding user data privacy requires companies to delete user data after a certain period of time.

People keep conflating GDPR/EU data privacy laws with account deletion policies. GDPR requires companies to delete personal data that is no longer necessary but even then there is no set time limit and it definitely does not apply to purchased digital items.
Digital purchases and personal data are not the same thing. Companies aren't being forced by the EU to wipe your game library...that’s just their own internal policy. Apple "remove" accounts that are inactive after a number of years but you can reactive them with all your purchases whenever you want... The account isn't "deleted" but Sony on the other hand...

Let me add to this that Xbox/Nintendo etc. does it too... But people aren't aware of it because their current situation isn't as bad as Sony's.
