Husband pissed me off. What a wimp.
Great acting all round though.
I’m glad he never stepped up the whole movie, way more realistic then suddenly gaining confidence
only good thing he really did was jump from the roof but even then he goes right back to wimping out on killing Mcavoy. I bet they really do end up splitting in the end

& him swimming back to get the boy.
Within 25 min I said I see why she was cheating on him. It is best they do separate
s\*\*\* turned into home alone at the final act :hah: also lowkey like a emasculation kink vibe but overall it was cool
There’s a lot of awkward humor. The audience was laughing cause it was intentionally funny. I thought it was good good.

Hella fun and I was into it.
Super frustrating tho bc I ended up in the row with two loud people on each side of me kinda ruining the vibe yelling at the screen

I speak the true true
On each side? Y’all get some weirdos in your theaters. They were testing you to see how much you could put up with out of politeness.
so this is good actually. doesn't have the same bite as the original but I still enjoyed the route this one takes.

Yall be telling folks to be quiet? I picked seats purposely away but ofc when I got there I had the two loudest people sitting next to me I was getting pissed ngl
Just watched the OG. So f***ing dark
This!!

Nah, I’m just kidding. There’s a point where I’ll tell someone to be quiet but they have to be super egregious.
love the lack of music in most of the movie allowing sequences to just play out. also there was this sick ass 70’s style zoom that happens near the end when the wife is startled, that s*** was awesome
I get that they had Americanize it for domestic audiences but this completely missed the point of the original. The danish version was funnier, scarier, and honestly had better performances. For as good as Mcavoy plays it he isn’t touching the chilling performance Fedja gave in the same role

Should I watch it first? Is it connected at all or pure reimagining?
Should I watch it first? Is it connected at all or pure reimagining?
Reimagining but watching one will naturally spoil the reveals of the other since they follow similar plot beats and reveals and core themes/plotlines
I’d say watch the OG first! The OG does it a little colder, meaner, bleaker and I think that’s the best way to experience the story.
Watching the remake first will send you into the OG knowing the shape of the story in a way that will dampen the experience imo. And the remake can still be enjoyed because it’s different enough and still works when you know the og.

I would definitely watch the original first. It’s mostly in English anyway

Watch the original first.
The remake is tame version of the OG that you don’t need to watch

The "tameness" makes it kind of delightful. Very funny movie. I imagine the original steers a lot closer to Funny Games.
Only watched this one first because of James McAvoy
