Him taking on Marvel's Moon Night is really intriguing to me.
    That script might be special

Oh yeah I agree with that because im from Europe so most of the indie s*** barely makes it here, but I get every single Disney release a day early lol.

Prime example for me is how much they botched the French Dispatch rollout man.
Ive been waiting on that for the longest, they delayed it a bunch of times with no set date, and then they slapped it on a limited release the same weekend as Dune lmfaooooo.

The industry sucks, and if you not from NY or LA,its more than likely that they wont distribute a movie near you.

I really really hate that aspect of the industry fr

bro look at this thats crazy lmao

bro you seen my letterboxd lol I enjoy both. But I hate when people try to frame the "indie" vs "blockbuster" debate as if it's an even bout.

F*** which movie is better lemme give you an example, i live in NY so it's easier for me to catch big and small releases. I saw Titane, Many Saints of Newark & Venom 2 in the same week.

But for my friend who lives in Georgia, he was not able to see Titane in theaters near him.

That's the problem me & many others have with the industry today.

The fact that Disney owns Searchlight Pictures, the distributor of Nightmare Alley & chose to release it the same day as f***ing SPIDER-MAN with little to no promo in comparison is d***head s***.

Coming from a person who has those two movies sitting at the same rating, regardless of which movie you enjoy better, that's just mad ew.

fully agree with this post tbh

but i also think the rise of streaming (and especially 2020 and partially 2021) made people realize that alot of movies are just as good on streaming as theyre in the cinema yk? like i remember someone said that cinema is gonna become one of those things where its only for "event" type movies (basically just IP movies) and i sadly do think we're going that way

even tho personally i wish i was able to watch those movies in the cinema aswell

like the last duel had pretty decent marketing id say, but that s*** flopped so hard aswell bc its just not as marketable anymore, its one of those "oh its gonna be streaming in a few months so might aswell wait"

and it's crazy cuz streaming services don't always work well for these mid-range movies either. We either gonna see huge tent pole movies or movies with little to no budget and nothing else.

Netflix is notorious for dumping these movies on their platform with no promotion, etc.

Last Duel prob not as marketable but in America that s*** came out the same day as the new Halloween smack dab in the middle of October too so

EDIT: Just realized Disney owns the company that distributed Last Duel, holy s*** @elvis

was the guy who played sandman actually in this? Cause he was sand the entire time when he had the ability to be sand and human in the raimi film. Also the part where he gets cured is just the sewer scene from sm3 in reverse

You didn’t see the end? They showed him in human form disappearing

For the most part, but this tweet kinda has some merit I think. i feel like there was an easier way to have Peter start from the bottom

    https://twitter.com/NewTSage/status/1472815517501120519

Easier aka more predictable route aka more boring route. I mean what did they expect? Another origin story and tired build-up? The way the home trilogy did things was a fresh take and allowed marvel to tell stories beyond what we've already seen and even if we're now going back to "status quo" its different because of the stories and experiences we DID see prior and future installments will require less backstory and allow the story to move a lot quicker because the audiences are already familiar with the character and what hes gone through. i dont see anything inherently wrong with the decision marvel chose too, like the tweet implies, because its not like anything is being rehashed either. If that were the case that would be valid criticism but its not soo...

Both lizard and sandman were entirely cgi and their actual appearances were recut from scenes from previous movies due to scheduling conflicts. they did the voicework though. There was a video i watched but it got copyright claimed lol.

ngl I seen both @survival_horror & @Jonboi have well thought out opinions that went against the general consensus but niggas ignored them and engaged with @ShintaroKago and others like him cuz he was more abrasive in his commentary lol

    F*** em

  • Jonboi

Thanks dude. This is just opinions, there’s no need for anyone to get tribal about this s***. I can safely say that this movie is not for me. I’m just not very effected by the nostalgia. I crave new experiences and this film felt like the zombie resurrections of old friends. The whole experience was very… uncanny valley. It’s just really easy to get emotions out of you by plugging in old characters and giving them winking in-jokes. Its a crossover episode. Crossover episodes give you a superficial buzz, but it’s almost impossible for them to feel organic. The stuff relating to THIS Spider-Man… Relationship with Dr Strange and MJ and Aunt May… That stuff doesn’t really hit that hard. So I’m left with a movie that leaves me cold. I dunno man. I just wasn’t very connected, and a lot of the comedy made things feel cheap and fake. To me.

I’m actually kind of genuinely impressed that they created a movie that feels so cold with spider men we love . I know it’s a mcu movie so there are things it has to check off the list but again if we saw the parallels in the spider men lives as in ( saw their separate dimensions ) would have slapped or if Holland went to their worlds . I secret identity court case was resolved so neatly then wiping everything in end after mess. What stakes are there when going into it 4,5,6 confirmed , villains going back to universes to either die or be cured but either way never seen again because they extracted the money out of us.

“ cured “ is an odd way to view villains losing power and suddenly regaining their psyche but I give it to them even if Holland going to beat the s*** out of random criminals lol. Curing villains nearly feels like Batman . But respect to them for showing love and questioning cycles of violence .

But yeah with 40 minutes of the Heroes we know on screen rattling off as many one liners , memes and jokes as they can get off it do feel uncanny.

If this movies discourse is what it takes for people to start having more nuanced takes on here instead of the usual classic vs mid debates >>>>>>

Always been my point. The more people have to think about a piece of art the more they reflect on what it truly means outside of a letterbox score or /10 or classic or mid

  • Dec 20, 2021

We didn’t really get a substantial scene with Aunt May early in the movie, so when she died, I felt nothing.

Exactly them rushing that great power great responsibility line in there was comical cause she bleeding to death and gets sudden clarity

I guess this is nothing specific about this movie but I think it fits because some users itt have said something similar.

I really dislike the whole notion nowadays that something has to be RATED.
I feel like a lot of people go into movies(same s*** applies to music) just so they can get off a rating on twitter or letterboxd or imdb or whatever.
Like if your mindset about any movie is what should I rate this, you'd be better off without watching anything.
And I myself am guilty of this sometimes, everyone is tbh.

How about we sit with a movie instead of the classic or the worst movie ever.
That instant gratification kicking our butts as a collective fr.

    Also,there is like 0 nuance when discussing something,its either a 10/10 or a 0/10 loool.
    Where the sixes,sevens at???

I’ve said this and I hope y’all move away from numbered reviews

Peter gets symbiote black suit, and Black Cat is introduced.

I was theorizing them bringing black cat in as a conflict of interest for Peter

  • Like is how many times spider man showing a day annoying ? Yes unfortunately because there is nothing in this movie that justifies what Disney is doing besides “ we want money we are a cultural phenomenon “ . Especially during a surge lol where some countries going on lockdown
