Seem like they tapped into art Twitter heavy when making this movie and well yea that’s all I want to say about this 🤙
Yeah they seemed to pick up a bunch of random and new artists off Instagram and Twitter portfolios.
They're a******s on that end for putting them in probably their worst crunch recently, but those guys should have expected something really different with a 5 year movie production
damn that's f***ed up
run it back tho
Nothing great ever got made by working normal hours
You have to go above and beyond
I don’t feel bad about people who get to work on one of the biggest movies in the world
Speaking from experience; 11 hour workdays 7 days a week is inhumane idgaf if it’s the GOAT of any medium. I know half them animators got burnt tf out and wages were probably ass

You should def read the article, the movie wasn’t really even in development fully till last year cause Lord was still messing with storyboarding.
While animators were hired in 2021; niggas had to wait 3 to 6 months b4 getting started.
Niggas basically crunched the entirety of last year.

Animators in this industry can end up making high 6 digits if they do good work. Yeah you can get paid as low as 30k in a year but you can also make half a million if you’re working hard and doing a good job.
77 hours a week is pretty standard across high earning salaries. If you wanted to do private equity, you’d have to likely work 80+ hours a week getting NO pay for months to years to get a shot at making the big bucks.

That’s why it was delayed

Yeah no man. They are not getting paid like that for this movie

I’m sure some of the lead animators or more seasoned animators were making good money. And what do you mean “this movie”? This is one of the biggest movies in the world. Ofc the seasoned guys are getting paid big bucks
But yeah if you’re relatively new, you obviously won’t be making that kind of money. That’s just standard across every industry though. The young bucks gotta work their ass off for little pay
Wonder if this “news” is gonna lead to bunch of people turning against the film and being like “Well, it wasn’t that good anyway.”

Lmao I thought the movie was mid to begin with but I find it laughable that we’re out here complaining about guys working 70-80 hours when they all stand to make huge money in the future.
There’s many industries out there where people have to work a series of unpaid internships with these kinds of hours just to end up not even getting a full time role.

Yeah, you can f*** right off with that bullshit.

the worst are gonna be the people who start to advocate against these movies and protest seeing them and shame anyone who does

Idk man, a single year crunch is kind of f***ed up. Doesn't justify the means you know?

but if everyone were to ignore it that would just be ensuring that all their work was meaningless and went to waste
better to let it be shown off

What I’m getting from this is that Lord and Miller are perfectionist geniuses
This was obvious for sure but I didn’t mind it lol wasn’t constantly apart of his look

Honestly prior to this movie I didn’t like the design of Miguel’s costume at all but he actually looked scary and it grew on me
