DanhustI think both are great, but the animation is more clear here. First one had some parts that felt like watching some type of VR/3D effect without the glasses.

What movie? Across the Spider-Verse? Just said both movies are dope but the animation in the first one could have been better.
Soul is boring as f***, it's cool if you like it though. I put it with other boring movies like Red or Encanto. Pixar and Disney animation have both been pretty dead. Guess that's why they are going back to sequels, hopefully better than Incredibles 2.

I won’t deny Disney is starting to lose its touch but man….
Aug 15, 2023CloudyDreamsEven if we went by mainstream American animation, there’s plenty of Disney/Pixar movies I’d put over this. I’d also put the first spiderverse and Shrek 1 and 2 over it. I would hardly call movies like Corpse Bride, Fantastic Mr Fox, Kubo and the Two Strings, Coraline, etc. niche and those are all better as well.
And once you start looking at animation outside of America, it’s very easy to get to a 100 better animated movies than this.
Honestly even if you loved this movie, it’s heavily ignorant to sincerely think that one of the most decorated and multifaceted mediums in art has not produced 10 more impressive and well done films than this. You’re really no better than an Oscar voter at that point.
Ik it sounds like i’m moving goalpost but the bar of today i believe this is where it’s at. That pixar animation along with the stories today is falling behind on the big screen. I definitely would enjoy coraline, shrek, wall-e and even something like wallace and gromit as much as this spiderverse but the vibrancy and relatability of what i saw out of this is an entirely new bar that someone like pixar set in the 90s and 2000s
