but as someone who’s filmed skate his entire life why would you not wanna see your boys on the big screen portraying your craft in an authentic manner

idek if he really is mad or if he's just bs in that clip but if he is its probably cause jonah took credit for finding all these skaters for mid 90s when in fact he just pawned like 95% from illegal civ

my thought on this is that mickey had big screen ambitions and made oral agreement with jonah and spike to help him to get there in exchange for his favors. they seemed to fail their part, so he was salty about that

but jonah case is kinda opportunistic, he really doesn't care much about these guys

I think he's just mad Jonah didn't use Mid90s to promote the Illegal Civ brand. Plus this even feels like planned controversy to promote his own skate film. To make people go like "whoa, that was all fake, I need to see the real thing". I mean I didn't think Mid90s was a flawless thing and maybe his project really is more real, but that's in bad taste imo.

In general, talking s*** in public in like your first big interview about legends in your field who gave you amazing opportunities... not a good look.

As far as Frank liking that instagram post - first off it's just a friend of his doing his first big interview so it's a nobrainer to like. And also from the clip it wasn't clear he was talking about Spike too. And even so just liking a post to a support a friend still doesn't mean you're backing every opinion they have lol

Also more importantly Spike himself has more recently (last year, Mikey interview is from 2019) said he's still on great terms with Frank (see the reddit link in op). This is someone paraphrasing but
