thats what 98% of people in music are one way or another
And so what? That makes their research invalid?
why would i care about artists. get a real job man lmao. you think people build houses, deliver s*** to your door etc etc for you to sing at home?
1. classical marxist theory suggested that the point of a more equal labour distribution would mean more time for creative pursuits
2. sounds like an anti-music thing to say ngl. 1000s of great musicians, if not more, are barely scraping by even though they make music that deeply inspires
get off the charts, blud
evil company

no i actually think this is on the most valuable side of music journalism. There is still a lingering feeling of "this person is a bitter fail artist" with all of this which taints it for me but its definitely much different than the average music reviewer. Doing research like this is valid.

One demerit for gross materialism to Plight2
The central committee will be reviewing further

Id say you dont deserve to listen to music or watch movies etc but clearly you have no artistic drive in your life to fulfil you so thats punishment enough

yea creative pursuits are not the same as labor. you have to perform labor. do whatever you want in your free time.
"For as soon as the distribution of labour comes into being, each man has a particular, exclusive sphere of activity, which is forced upon him and from which he cannot escape. He is a hunter, a fisherman, a herdsman, or a critical critic, and must remain so if he does not want to lose his means of livelihood; while in communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticise after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, herdsman or critic"

yeah the problem is the sheer amount people have to do, not just physical labour but emotional labour, leaving little time for creativity
but I really had a problem with you suggesting people are failet because they're not in the top 2% of earners, like the music industry isn't a really exploitative one that is very difficult to navigate unless you're one of the very select few or are born into money/industry connects or both
the Drake standom was a giveaway but I had hope
well it makes more sense for bro to look at art that way and be a Drake stan than vice versa imho
that’s just the way they r

you can just make art and have a job

have you tried to make art working 40/50+ hours a week with a family and all the other s***e
it can definitely be done but it suffers, and you will do as well

Thanks for admitting Drake is part of the problem and uses bots to inflate his Spotify streams. It’s no secret he’s the most botted artist in Spotify history.
Dead @ Drake groupies trynna spin it like he’s never been backed by Spotify.
this got nothing to do with drake vs kendrick
brainrot
I know Apple Music is probably not totally immune to this sort of stuff but honestly they seem generally better and after reading this I am probably going to switch. They simply don’t do a lot of the bullshit Spotify does (they don’t have to)
