The beat, the spooky emotional hook, the rain/ thunder in the back that sets dreary mood, the pencil scratches as he writes the letters

How vividly he depicts dudes moods / mental instability and increasingly irritated tone til he’s actually irrate and suicidal on top of the scene where he actually does commit that.

The depiction of his drunken state of mind at the end, and his interaction with the girl in the suicide scene

Em’s point of view and twist ending.

I don’t think there’s ever been a song that so succinctly illustrated a situation that was funny, weird, sad, and intense all at the same time.
Multiple characters come to life and one dies by the end of it which leaves you with a weird gut feeling.

S*** was so skillfully done. There’s really no weaknesses whatsoever and I dont think any other rapper would’ve ever been capable of creating a song of this much expertise and graciousness. 20 years later it’s just as fresh as the day it came out.

If you're into that style of rap, you should check out Scarface.

This song conveys a lot of the emotions you described.

Regardless of anyone hating Em or his new music, it’s undeniable the impact it had on popular culture. And aside from that, it’s just an absolutely brilliant song.

Slick Rick holds the title for worst love advice ever dispensed by a rapper, just absolutely terrible with women

And yet he’s unchartable, such a big spark he pulls - even nuns say the motherfuckers remarkable
