The Last Jedi took all the regular tropes that Star Wars has already used and flipped them on their heads it was starting something new for the Star Wars brand.
TFA Built nothing it just leaned on the original trilogy. TLJ was doing all the work
Which work? lol it just made me hate Luke and made us think Rey's parents were regular people, killing one of the few interesting plots going on.
It also made me start hating Finn and Poe. Rose also, obviously.
I only enjoyed the Rey-Kylo scenes.

Nothing?
Rey's origin story
Snoke's origin Story
The Knights of Ren and their purpose
Whether Finn was force sensitive or not
If Luke was going to train Rey or not
Why did Kylo turn to the dark side?
All of these were illuded in some way in the first movie.
But TLJ scrapped most of it, leaving nothing to anticipate with the next movie.

i was really excited about star wars after seeing the force awakens
idk why rian johnson thought it'd be a good idea to break the chain in the middle of a trilogy
that's my biggest gripe i think
i'm not mad at wanting to do something different, but the stakes were too high to just disregard what the prior movie set up imo
why not take some of the established plotlines and just... tell them interestingly??????
Episode 3 game >>>>>>
Fun fact. Hayden Christensen was brought in for the game to decide what Anakin's fighting style and moves should be like.

JJ Abrams shouldn't have planted so many mystery boxes in the first place.
JJ Set Rian up and put him in a box.
It's amazing how Rian was able to break out of the box in such a interesting way.
Rey being a nobody would have been so fire.
Luke struggling with the dark side again was fire.
Kylo killing Snoke and not needing some mystery leader was fire.

People started hating so hard on TFA that they started making changes.
JJ Abrams shouldn't have planted so many mystery boxes in the first place.
I thought they got answered for the most part aside from Snoke’s origin story.
Rey is no one
Knights of Ren is pretty self explanatory.
It was pretty clear Finn wasn’t force sensitive by the end of TFA
The whole Luke training Rey thing didn’t get scrapped, it just wasn’t the whole Yoda and Luke type of training people expected lol.
One of the best scenes in TLJ was seeing the reason why Kylo joined the dark side.
They just weren’t the answers people wanted but they did get answered.

The biggest problem people had was Rey being a powerful Jedi without training. So her having regular parents made 0 sense.

I just would have liked the message it would send for future movies. You don't have to be a skywalker or palpatine for you to be powerful.
It's like a metaphor to moving onto something new.

You would have to train though. Rey was always powerful lol she had to be someone special.
And Finn at the end trying to say he feels the force? Lmao I was like who cares?

I don't remember Finn saying he feels the force in TLJ.

In ROS, I meant. That's what he wanted to tell her. Rey thing I said was about the trilogy in general.

Facts, yeah it’s hard to find anything to like in that movie. First half starts alright but the second half is a chore.
Wonder how different the ST would have been if Brad Bird picked Star Wars instead of Tomorrowland. Disney had to ask JJ twice before getting him on board.
Also they were on the clock since minute 1 because they wanted a 2015 release to please the shareholders with a return of investment.
Someone needs to leak Michael Arndt's TFA draft
just remembered that maul had the high ground in episode 1 and obi-wan pulled off some bs
i feel like they did anakin dirty
if obi-wan was able to pull it off
anakin should have been able to
even if obi-wan eventually won obviously
i know it's a nice callback but still
feels kind of nasty to me
