mix of a few things

i realized i care way way less about lore and canon than i thought i did. palpatine back? sure! rey is palpatine's granddaughter even tho in the previous film they said she was of no importance?... ok! once i got over that and realized i was upset at these things for no reason, i was able to enjoy the story they were trying to tell a lot more. i don't think these particular choices damage anything that came before it.

i still didn't really love it tho, it would probably move above TPM and ROTS, but that's about it.

then i came across some old George Lucas interviews from the 80s where he talked about making the original trilogy, ROTJ in particular, and it made me see TROS in a whole new light. I suddenly gained a new appreciation for it as the most Lucasian film since the OT. TROS is everything he did and wanted to do with those films, updated for the modern climate.
