I might be the only person here who’s ever watched a whole wnba game outside the finals lmao. There’s a real chance I’m the only one here who’s ever given the wnba money lmao. I don’t hate the game but i understand it’s limitations. Throwing more money around doesn’t just fix it, it’s not like the European/Russian game brings in huge viewership it’s largely for the entertainment of the oligarchs. Almost every wnba team has lost money year over year, it’s not feasible for them to pay more unless the nba gives them a huge influx of money and the nba knows it’s a bad investment. They need to find another way to brand or sell the wnba outside just making it a bootleg subsidiary of the nba.
WNBA is a new league and has never gotten proper funding and care. WNBA legends All talk about their first hand experience with how terrible the WNBA is run.
I actually watch WNBA (not tryna be that guy lol) and the game feels limited.
I bring Europe up because they have more skillful female ball there and it is respected more than I would say in the states.
My entire point is that they can AFFORD to fund the WNBA, and it would benefit the product significantly by increasing pay and incentives.
Higher quality female basketball players will arise after you give them more than 200k to play ball.

My thing is even if you bring in the best female talent, which i already think is in the wnba, it won’t bring enough attention to the league. It’ll always be overshadowed by the men’s league. They’re not going to invest in something that may not be profitable ever. I just don’t see a path for them to genuinely be successful even if they do that. They can’t just pay the players more, the owners are losing money as is and selling teams. People won’t buy those teams knowing the costs are going up and profits are non existent. Throwing more money doesn’t fix their issues. You can see something like mma where the skill level, even for the women, has risen tremendously while pay hasn’t gotten much better. The skills can be developed and it’s not even like they make bad money. Some get doctor money to play in a league that nobody watches.

they've been exposed to hundreds of right wing stories where some person of a minority identity does something bad, liberals (according to fox mews) say the person is innocent because they're a minority, and then it's revealed that the liberals were wrong and said person is guilty. Now they're conditioned to think that when a minority person is being defended by liberals (i.e., #Freewhoever trends on twitter, CNN covers the event, etc.), it must mean that this person is actually a bad person, and is probably guilty of whatever they're accused of.
Also, the right is the party of personal accountability. If you know Russia's strict on weed and then try to sneak weed into Russia, well that's on you if you get caught.
